I'm confused, do Apple employees respond to emails from anyone that sends them something? I've never seen so many top execs answering emails from random consumers...

haha.. gotta still like Apple's enthusiasm.... "not ready to share any details"

Well that's good, because I'm not ready to buy neither.

they sometimes do.. but all the times i've emailed Tim cook of stuff about i have with Apple's way they do stuff and other topics, i never got a response. Doesn't mean they don't read them.. I think i only even got 1 reply for Tim cook ever.

A month or so ago I emailed Craig Federighi asking if the latest Apple TV would soon have support for Amazon Prime Video and he emailed back five hours later. I was somewhat surprised.

Wait and see. "We do plan..." which perhaps means after the modular Mac Pro since it is a "consumer" model?

I'll hang in there then. I'd rather put Apple money into a solid Mini with Quad Core cpu, a good dGPU (2GB perhaps 3GB (do they make 3GB dGPUs?)) and SSD please. By that time this iMac will be ready to become a display for the Mini.

An updated version of the 2012 with more RAM and better dGPU and SSD would be fabulous. I've long wanted to try the Mac Mini and the 2014 isn't the cards for me. I need better bang for the buck, Quad Core and a superior GPU.

For the last 3 years it’s been people like me saying it (realistically for 1-2 years given the refresh cycle), now you have the news from the CEO of Apple and you still don’t believe it?

No what I believe is that they will update it, then we'll have to guess again when the next update is to take place, will it be 3 years again, or because it is so important will be 5 years to the next update, or will they wait 4 years to tell us that was the end of the line. There is absolutely no way to know if Apple's lack of attention is because the product is dead, if Apple is just being lazy, or if Apple does not care.

That's nice. I hope we haven't seen the last of the iPad Mini either.
How sweet would a bezel-less Mini be!

Because the CEO said it... why wouldn’t you believe when the CEO declares it? You really think he’d lie? He’d be out of a job if he was found to be lying. Stock information fraud.

Oh I believe they will release a new update, that does not mean the mini is important or that it is not the last of the line. I for one, don't ever plan to buy another one. Why invest in a platform that Apple probably will abandon with no notice and no forethought. My servers are all being moved to linux. Its been three years and nothing. I would much prefer Macs, but Apple does not make Macs for people like me any more.

My 2011 is still going. The only thing it really won't do well is full 4k playback. Installed SSD, 16G RAM and thats it. I would like to see a new one in the future but too bad they removed the ability to upgrade down the road on the newer versions.
Same here. I wish I could get the 4K working. I've got it up to something like 1600p, but it crashes above that :(

Yes Tim, the MacBook Pro is also important to you, and you messed that up. Prepare for an even more gimped Mac mini with a record price tag

A while back my friend was having problems with his new iPhone 5S battery draining and the Apple Store told him there was no issue, even though there clearly was. He emailed Tim Cook about it and 1 hour later the Apple Store called him and apologized and asked him to come in and replace his phone.

My hackintosh has the power of an iMac and only cost me €600, so if you can’t beat that then I don’t care how it looks Tim.

I’m not being a jerk for the hell of it either, I WANT to buy their products. But what they offer is simply not cutting it.

Apple do not care about their hardware lineup. Sadly they become a Phone company.

Look at the poor designs and lack of updates history.

Macbook Pro fiasco

Mac Pro - Another fiasco

Mac mini 3 years to update.

iMac - They only updated the internals. No major re-design. Compare the design to the latest Surface Studio Pro. Microsoft is years ahead. Monitor can tilt, touchscreen, WAY much better than the iMac.

Truly embarrassing...

My guess:

Mac mini with Intel I3-8100 (quad core) processor and Intel UHD 630 graphics.

Base model will have 4GB RAM (configurable to 8GB or 16GB).

Oh, and a 5,400 rpm HDD [configurable to Fusion Drive or flash storage (SSD)].
You forgot they
No, you said enough to show you’re biased and unable to properly take information and sift between fact and opinion.
Read consumer reports and comparisons test maybe you suffer from the Apple pipeline tunnel vision
