Why is it we don't see any other Company head talk politics like Timmy?

Oh, yeah. Because it's such a bad idea!

Exactly. Politics is inherently divisive. I mean someone can like Apple products regardless of their politics and Timmy's politics and that person will be a happy Apple customer.

But when Timmy opens his mouth and spews politics, the people who agree with him aren't any more likely to buy Apple products; if they like the product, they'll buy it. But the people who hate Timmy's political message are less likely to buy Apple products because it feels like they're using their wallet to support a political position they hate.

That's why intelligent business leaders just focus on running their companies and leave politics to the windbags. Also running a major company is a big job where does Timmy find the time to work on his politics? Maybe that's why Apple seems adrift like a ship without a captain most of the time these days.

Yes because Scott has so many friends at Apple.

Being friends with everyone doesn’t make a good CEO. Apple needs another visionary like Jobs. There is nothing visionary about Tim Cook. He’s simply using the brand name as leverage to make a ton of money. I honestly believe an Apple with Scott Forstall in charge would give us some amazing well thought out products. I don’t think Cook even cares about “product” he just cares about making money.

"We know that Apple could only have been created in the United States. We know that. This company would not have flourished in any other country in the world. We love this country. We are patriots. This is our country and we want to create as many jobs as we can in the U.S. We don't need any political pressure for that."

Can someone please explain why Americans constantly say this? And this is coming from an American. But I am not nationalistic as Tim's statement is despite his erroneous use of patriotism. I really see no reason why a company couldn't have started elsewhere. There are plenty of huge international companies and I find it offensive to say otherwise.

With any small company that becomes hugely successful luck is more the magic sauce than being in rah rah USA!

Google it. Also, unless you personally don't buy anything from any country with less than democracies, including China, which is 70% of the world, it's a nonsense retort.

Well then if anyone is guilty of „whataboutism“ it is you. You say Apple is excused and we shouldn’t complain because everyone else does it too, don’t you?

The thing is I would not even mention it if Apple would not try to market themselves as the environmental friendly and social responsible alternative and even talk down their competition on these issues.

You're yapping about it, you're doing the whole virtue circus way more than them, when I know for sure you're whole house is full of cheap ass crap, see the damn irony.
Take care of your own house, be consistent and then talk. Otherwise you're blowing hot air.

I don’t have Chinese slaves working for me. I also didn’t sell out millions of customers to a totalitarian regime.
That I have „a house full of cheap stuff“ is something you just made up. Why? Because you don’t have any real arguments. I wonder if you even know what you are arguing about.

So apple is all about security with their phones. I get it. Once you install Facebook, does that all go out the window? I'm just thinking outloud, here.

I know this isn't apple's fault, but Facebook is pretty popular, so it does need to be considered, right?

Definitely something to it. Apple makes app developers provide users with their privacy policy unless they adopt apple's. Facebook hasn't even lived up to its own privacy policy. That is a violation of app store rules.

I respect Tim Cook even more because he speaks out what he feels is right despite the risk to Apple’s business. Honor and integrity is sorely lacking from our politicians and the President himself. If I can’t rely on my government to do what’s right, then I’m in full support of others that will.

Hardly a revolution in CEO culture when he is another white male among the masses

Oh please.....give us a break on the "white male" media c__ap.
[doublepost=1523326442][/doublepost]Steve Jobs biggest mistake was to appoint Timmey as the new CEO.

Apple "Changing the world" for those that can afford it...

Hardly changing the world when only a fraction of that world can afford Apple products.

Billions of people own Apple products, have jobs supporting the Apple ecosystem, or own products or have jobs that wouldn’t exist except for Apple advancing new product categories. Even if it’s not a large percentage of the world population, it’s still very impactful.
