right or wrong the only thing i could think on seeing this "news article" was :

how the hell is this news, why, today, are we still bothered about sexual orientation, as long as someone isn't going after 5 year olds then really, the fact they are gay, straight, bi , isn't important and certainly isn't news worthy,

but maybe its just me that thinks we moved passed all this stuff years ago

Can you please explain this to me? You don't like homosexuals or you don't support them to come out of closet?

I think I did not word my statement very well, oops.

My statement meant:
I will continue to buy Apple products, but I believe homosexuality is wrong. If I were to greet and have conversation with someone with this lifestyle, i would show them respect and kindness, but would certainly not support their lifestyle in our conversation.

You are clearly trying to say that one is born gay. This in not a fact. Calling it a fact doesn't make it a fact.
There are a variety of factors that can cause homosexuality. The strongest one being cultural/envrionmental. Take a look at history. In ancient rome and greece todays concept of sexual behaviour didn't exist. Same-sex sexuality was normal and expected. This still goes for places like afghanistan, today.

Homosexuals were born that way. Your hate was a learned behavior.
This statement, as a generalization, is simply incorrect.

Says the straight bigot who knows nothing about being gay. Are you getting your science from Fox News???

So I guess by your logic, calling the Bible the word of God doesn't make it a fact either.

Props to Tim Cook for coming forward. As the leader of the most successful company on the planet, his coming out matters. It could give some bullied gay kid the hope he needs to live.

Good to see so many enlightened folk at MacRumors. There are way fewer haters in this thread than I expected, though predictably they are rather loud. Average bigots, a few closeted cases who can't face the truth, and a bible thumper who cherry picks phrases to support his own prejudices.

I expect those who quote Leviticus to also refrain from eating shellfish, trimming the corners of their beards or their temples, and mixing different fabrics together in their clothing.

Homosexuals were born that way. Your hate was a learned behavior. When did you decide to hate others?

You forgot to ask, "When did you stop beating your wife?"
Why do you I assume I hate people if I warn them not to indulge in demonstrably destructive behaviosr? Indeed, it could be argued that I hate them if I did not warn them.

Sorry, but I'm done buying Apple products as long as Tim Cook is CEO. Using his public position to push the agenda of hate and intolerancs aka. the gay agenda, is disgusting. Keep your bizarre sexual behavior to yourself, Tim, nobody wants to hear about it.

Those Android tablets are looking better and better.

I design bridges...and I'm gay!

You better stop driving across rivers. You could be using a gay bridge...

You miss my point entirely. In brief, the ‘world’ has NOT changed MUCH in perceptions on social mores and values. So, yes in a tiny portion of world society it’s now ‘ok’ to announce your sexual proclivities WITHIN TIGHT PARAMETERS. it is always dangerous to swim in personal waters publicly though.

Would you be happy if we learned a CEO was into beastility or ‘water sports’ or bondage, or ‘rough sex’. Point? Apple is a corporation dependent on investors and investors are most often conservative. Thus, it can hurt or even destroy a corporation if personal values become identified in the corporate leader. Best to stay quiet and focus on the BUSINESS. That’s what the job is...not what you do to who in the bedroom.

I wouldn't care, quite frankly. I'm not as concerned with the health of a business of which I own no shares and have no vested interest as you seem to be.

Guns are a tool used by men who intend to kill other men. In its absence, men will use another tool: machetes--Rwanda, IEDs--Iraq, commercial aircraft--US, nuclear bombs--Japan, cars, hands, feet--all over the world. Do not blame the tool. Blame the desire to kill. Should hands be banned because a husband beat his wife to death with his bare hands?

Hands, planes and cars all have a purpose that is entirely different than that of guns and atom bombs. By definition guns are used to kill. They make killing easier and ate intended to do so. That is the difference, and the reason why there should be less guns and atom bombs, and why they should be illegal.

"I hate gays but I love apple product more"...or something like that.

Please do not put things in my mouth. I do not hate gays. I would treat any homosexual that I greet with respect and kindness, but that would be the extent of our relationship.

So it's a choice. When did you choose to be heterosexual? You can't have it both ways, think it through before you make illogical claims.

Stupid false dichotomy endlessly repeated, which ultimately adds nothing to the discussion of sexual morality anyway.

You could theoretically be born gay. You could theoretically choose to be gay. You could also theoretically be made gay by external forces and circumstances.

It doesn't say anything about the morality of homosexual sex. People are born all sorts of ways with all sorts of desires. A thing isn't automatically right just because you were born to like it. A thing isn't wrong just because you chose to like it, either.

You're wasting your words on these people. They are committed to ignoring what you say and will never, ever give you a fair hearing.

Well stated WestonHarvey1

I wish Tim Cooke well, but I wish he had not done this. While it is social progress to treat one another with respect, certain behaviors are not respectable no matter what our salvation-by-survey culture says. Any sexual union outside of a committed heterosexual marriage helps facilitate of one or more real, measurable problems: sex trafficking, prostitution, the spread of veneral diseases, broken relationships, and very often great emotional distress. A person may be born gay just as a person may be born with alcoholism written into their DNA code. Neither is a good thing. Such people do not need ridicule. They need help. Sadly, the homosexual community keeps saying this is normal and have no hope of finding better.

Congratulations on having the third most hateful and offensive post in this thread.
