I assume you're a believer. Why would god make homosexuals if it wasn't right? Why do dozens of animal species practice it?

In order to answer that question you would have to know and understand who "god" is, or at least who he says he is, and which "god" you are referring to.

In the context of the Judeo-Christian Bible, God indicates He made man and woman, male and female. He did not make homosexuals; He labeled said behavior unacceptable. To assume so would be in contravention with who He says He is. So you have to pick whether to believe what He says, or not believe in a "god" (or that particular "god") at all.

God set this machine (the universe) in motion, and is now an observer until He chooses intervene. To assume He will intervene is wrong, as the statement "God made X" implies.

The Bible is a moral manual, not a scientific document. He knew we'd figure out how things work on our own. He gave us what we couldn't figure out: why He did it.

So many bigots on this forum. Imagine being delusional enough that you thought someone else's sexuality was having a detrimental effect on your life and that you had to object to it. To do so in the name of a god who doesn't even exist, that's just unforgivable.

Oh boy.

You sound more hateful than anyone on this forum

I think you have missed his point entirely. We do not have any vile of hatred toward practicing religious people. Our objections are with beliefs system that promote bigotry, discrimination and mysogony.

You're right. And they even have that warning at the bottom of our menus: "Eating undercooked seafood can be hazardous to your health." I hadn't thought of that. Funny how the ancients in the Bible had so many things right.

Maybe they were smart enough to notice that people got sick from pork and seafood, and wrote it down? People in 800 BC were not morons.

Yes, that's the point. Do you have a response, or are you just going to paraphrase me?

And if I may ask you, please use a spell checker. It's embarrassing to be talking with a stereotype of an "ignerrint" Bible-thumper. I mean, if you are going to tout the Bible, at least spell "Commandment" right (not to mention "Saturday"). There is other learning available outside the Bible, such as English class.

I'm multitasking thank you

How do you separate the two? If they adhere to the system, then by association you hate them because you hate the system.

Don't bother. Their standards don't apply to them.

Hater. So, so much hate in your post.

I own it. I hate religion. I hate the way it rots the brain. And I hate the way it divides people. And I hate the way it gives people a false sense of right and wrong that they then use to pulverize others who don't share their beliefs. I hate the way it denies logic and reason in favor of totally unprovable fantasy that only a fool would take seriously. But dare to criticize religion? Oh then you'll get an earful about persecution and other such nonsense. Believe whatever dumb stuff you want to believe but don't be surprised when you get push back. And get used to it. Gay people are here to stay. All of you bigoted religious people have FAILED at stopping gay rights. So shut up and go back to your book of mythology.

This. Pretty much everyone knew he was gay anyway so I see this as a distraction more than anything else. His privacy is gone now.

I never knew! seriously, I thought he had a wife. :p this is news to me.

I agree about his privacy but more importantly I don't understand why people feel the need to 'come out'. it's a bit detrimental to their equality cause and I feel it's used as a tool to get in the limelight for ulterior reasons. just be who you are and people will see you for it.

There's a lot of hate in this thread.

Instead of lashing back at those you are intolerant, ignorant, and full of hate. let's retaliate with love, so that people reading this see how much support there is, not how much hate.

Let's not bother fighting back against people who let their personal beliefs hold them back from accepting and loving the world around them.

Tim Cook I'm proud of you.

Nicely done.

You're a classy, strong minded gentleman running one of the most successful brands in the world, a company that has inspired us and made our lives better.

I'm an ally. All the way.

To any young people reading this thread, worried about the amount of hate there is, it's just a result of people trying to fight fire with lighter fluid.

There's more support and acceptance out there than you know.

Thanks, Tim, for bringing about this conversation. It's time for us to come forward and show our support.

The Hate word has become a bit of mantra for the gay lobby. Everything is defaults to "hate." I think people are wising up to the overuse and rididulous misuse of the word.

Please show me where I missed the love in that post.

God made sexuality in a way that has a proper use. We, as free-will beings, can choose to abuse it. That doesn't make God fallible. Our choices, on the other hand, show us to be very much so.

I agree 100%. Why does the the world wonder why everything is a mess? Because we have CHOSEN against our Creators design and ways. All good things come from he who created this universe, including His gift of sexuality. But again, all that has been abused. Not JUST by the act of homosexuality either.

You can post stupid Bible verses until you've posted the whole stupid book. And you can try to explain away all the stupid contradictory stuff the stupid book claims. And you can even do it in a scholarly tone. But it doesn't change anything.

It may change things, even if it doesn't for you.

Why not explain something that is not understood?

How does it harm you that I believe in (that particular) God, and you may or may not?

You don't have to reply if you don't want to (although I welcome discussion).

Don't blame the word of God for humanities shortcomings.

lol @ Tim Cook for causing the mods so much consternation today

"Awww crap he went there now the forum's gonna open into the gates of hell all day.. I don't get paid enough for this so peace out" - mods today

Not sure that is Christ's message.

Yes yes yes, I know he was talking about dying for us and giving us the means to go to heaven. But in that message was one that challenged the Old Testament and promoted love and respect. Apologies for not touching on that (I know that sounded sarcastic, but I mean it).

Some Sociologists would arge that babies are born not knowing anything about sexual orientation. It is not a part of biology however your spirit is capable to overcome the natural "straight" tendency.
Saying that people are born gay is like saying that people are born to like a certain fruit or a color. These are not choices, just the way you are based on multiple factors in your life, your generated view of things, and your personality; all of which are not connected to biology.

This thread like many others have shown the worst in our species. Yes Homosexuality is a sin according to the Bible, but so is lying and rape and killing people and the general hate that as been going around in this thread. These are all sins that will be forgiven. Gays do not affect your life, so why hate on it. It is not up to you what these people do in their bedrooms.

It just sickens me so much to see how evil and insensitive we as human beings are. Even the religious people are intentionally trying to hurt people. This is just madness. Just because you don't agree on same things are others or look differently doesn't mean to try to bash them.

#EndtheHate

I support everyone's way of life though. Thanks to all Homosexuals for opening up to us here on MacRumors.

Ok, as long as you admit that you are a hater.

Well and I i am of the mind that anyone believing in a god is delusional and thus has a mental disorder.

I disagree. While I have no need or urge for the concept of "religion" in my life, I do respect those who did consciously choose to follow a "religion" after coming to the conclusion that it is what they want. May it be "Christianity", "Scientology", "Islam" or "Satanism", they are all the same in that sense.

What I cannot do is have any respect for the "beliefs" of the average "believer" who simply accepted the "religion" that he was told to follow by his parents as it is not a "belief" but simply trained behaviour, that person follows a "god" strictly based on the environment and geographical location that he was born into - no individual true "belief" present. I definitely don't see it as mental disorder, to me they appear more like victims who have been conditioned to not question anything but accept whatever the rules are of the "belief" system that was forced upon them. That members of certain "religions" hate gays or call us "sinners" is understandable as the concept of most "religions" doesn't leave any room for individual thoughts so they really are just left to babble about whatever they've been told is "the truth".

Obviously "religious" people need to understand that it is out of question to expect others to follow their own personal "religion", once they understand that hopefully they won't confuse "intolerance" with "criticism" anymore but enjoy their "religion" where it belongs - in their home without affecting others that don't want to have the least to do with it.

Sorry, requiring identification to vote, regardless of race, is in no way trying to do that. The risk of not doing that is rampant voteing fraud, which I guess you are ok with.

Precisely *what* "rampant voteing [sic] fraud" do you think they are trying to combat by passing laws that they *know* (and have publicly acknowledged) will more greatly hinder the voting rights of minorities?

The *vast* majority of voter fraud happens with absentee ballots. No ID required there, so it will have no impact there.

Since 2000, there have been *10* proven instances of in-person voter fraud{1}. That's 10 instances in 14 *years*. In a population of ~210 *million* people who are eligible to vote.

In Texas alone, they knew the voter id laws would disenfranchise more than 500,000 voters{2}, but apparently, that's necessary to prevent *TEN* instances of in-person voter fraud *nationwide* over the course of 24 *years*.

How dare you bring a small note of reason and responsibility to this thread, can't you see there are people who just want to HATE HATE HATE.:D:p:D:p:D:p:D

In order to answer that question you would have to know and understand who "god" is, or at least who he says he is, and which "god" you are referring to.

Whoa, there's more than one? How do you know you are following the right one?
