You seem not to have read what he said.

Paraphrasing: He believes that he has benefited from the courage and the work of many gay people. And by saying that the CEO of Apple is gay, _he_ can in turn help many gay people who are in a less strong position than he is.

You can easily see how necessary that is by reading some of the posts in this thread.

Sorry but the stock holders to the company he is CEO may think differently and wished he kept his private preferences to himself!

So... I have a serious question for all of those who do not agree with the so called "gay lifestyle", or "gay agenda", or that do not condone this announcement, or that find it reprehensible, unnatural, etc... or simply disagree with Tim's choices on moral or religious grounds:

What are you going to do about it?

Are you going to make a statement and stop buying Apple products now that Apple has come out as a pro-LBGT company? Are you going to defend your values in any meaningful way? Or are you just going to be hypocrites, complain about it, and just take it lying down? what about your morals and beliefs? aren't they more important that a simple gadget?

Because the way you express yourself - how passionate you feel about this, how sacred the roots of those beliefs are (it's the word of your god nonetheless!). You wouldn't even elect a congressperson if they remotely supported LGBT rights... so I would guess you are prepared to take some serious actions... are you not? or are you a bunch of lukewarms?

Because remember Revelation 3:15-16

“I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth."

How and when are you going to put your money where your mouth is?

i look at the bible and god this way.

would you believe me if i said i could walk out side and wave a wand and turn a frog into a princess?.....NO.

same as i would not believe you could slap 2 hands together to communicate to a dead spirit.

evolution stands on its own , i do not need history as evolution happens every day(viruses and genetics) , so far i have not seen god pumping out more earths in the atmosphere.

God makes people new each day. I see people's lives transformed by it, mine included, all the time. Whether you wish to see it as me reading a self-help book called the Bible or God actually working some invisible process in me or some peculiar combination of the two is where faith, reason and evidence meet. I am struck, however, how many of our world's problems would vanish if we held to the Scripture's doctrines on human sexuality: one man, one woman, working things out in love, for life.

Okay brah you're entitled to your own opinion. But I don't think he should control what he should say or how he should feel just because he needs to worry about what people thinks of him or what investors thinks of him.

Logical error on your side: Anyone making an argument needs to _prove_ that the argument holds. Anyone using some god thing as an argument needs to _prove_ that this god exists, or their argument is void. I don't have to prove anything.

Proof is pending

Personally, I've seen enough to be convinced that he is real and that the Scripture is his Holy Word. We can go into details, but I really don't think anything will convince you at this stage.

The easiest solution would be to just ban marriage for everyone. It's an obsolete concept anyway - the majority of children are born outside of marriage anyway and most marriage only last a couple of years...
Who you spend your life with should be a private matter, I don't see why it should be sanctioned by the State - same sex, different sex, polygamy polyandry, open couple, whatever, it should be private...

I wouldn't say ban marriage, but I agree who you spend your life with should be a private matter.

Make it independent of the process that determines next of kin, significant other, the determination of family for issues like hospital visits, medical/legal decisions, etc, and most other legal requirements.

I'm perfectly fine with the separation of Church and State.

So people who are infertile and have no potential to produce offspring should not be allowed to get married? How about an older woman past the age of being able to have kids? No marriage for her either?

In the end, we both know that it is not about procreation. It is about gay people not getting married, and every argument, no matter how wrong or stupid, will be used.

If you take a heterosexual couple where the man is infertile, and a couple of two woman, and both couples want a child, they'll have to do the exact same thing to fulfil their wish. And they can do the exact same thing. But for some reason the gay couple with a baby is not supposed to get married.

Heresy against what exactly? Do you want to be taken seriously here?

Not 'heresy', 'hearsay'.

hear·say
ˈhirˌsā/
noun
noun: hearsay

information received from other people that one cannot adequately substantiate; rumor.

But, if you want to be technical with your misreading, the bible would be considered heresy by *any number* of other religions.

In that case, you should keep away from the drugs.
