I wish he talked making a good computer. He's been selling us a garbage Mac Pro for the last 5 years.
That requires an investment of 7 to 10 years...

What about the 6+ year old Mac mini?
What's the problem now? Why are they not updating macs?
Other computer manufactures update regularly 1-2times per year. Apple used to but now they don't, it's a joke.
"Perhaps, but IMO he has an obligation to distinguish between his personal beliefs/opinions and how he represents others."
I suppose you're right. I imagine there are people in the world who not only have no interest in issues relating to privacy or equal rights (just two examples), but instead believe that private communications must be accessible to government and corporate eavesdropping. And that those of certain races/ethnicities/religions/genders should have rights superior to those of other races/ethnicities/religions/genders.
That said, I don't fall in either of the above two categories, so I applaud Mr. Cook for taking a stand. It's one of the many reasons I reward Apple with my dollars when shopping for phones and computers. It's OK if others feel differently and choose to reward a different company with their currency.
Yeah because Apple is in REAL fiscal trouble and the business is on the edge of the abyss...![]()
I call him “CEO” because he wears the “CEO” label without putting it into practice. Here you are again putting CEO in quotes
I didn’t. I said “evil has to exist”. I consider all what he is doing is evil, but that’s different from saying he is evil. He can change. Everybody can.As for calling him evil

It’s not about the money... it’s about delivering new, updated and better products.
Have a look at the current Mac lineup and tell me what you see.
Apple has spoken out on immigration specifically because Apple employs many immigrants. "We've got over 300 folks here on DACA," Cook said. "I want to stand up for them." Apple also has several thousand people that are on H1B visas who may be in "the deep green card back log," which Cook says gives Apple a unique perspective to share on the topic. "There are real people behind this that have real feelings," he explained.
As for diversity, Apple "has a lot of different people from a lot of different places" and is "accepting of people everywhere" which has led Cook to believe that the company has something unique to offer in conversations about diversity, which is also tied to the company's views on human rights and one of the reasons why Cook spoke out on recent U.S. immigration policy that saw children separated from their parents, which he called "inhumane." "Ultimately, that is what human rights are, treating people with dignity and respect," he told Lashinsky.
Do you mean there’s no difference between Macs and the rest of computers? This really explains why you don’t worry about the harm he’s doing to Apple. I love the Mac. There’re substitutes for it, but only partial substitutes. An that’s the reason why I’m so concerned about this “CEO”.if you hate what he does so much and you are so displeased with Apple, why are you here constantly talking about how unhappy you are? Why don’t you just buy something else instead of crusading against this one man?
Mac isn’t a focus of the company and hasn’t been for a long time, and all your nostalgia won’t pay employees’ mortgages.

More politics crap from Tim. Great. You make computers idiot.
We need a new CEO.
What a sad state we’re in.
Tim is that you?No but you definitely know better don't you. What do these ultra successful people know about running an organisation. Nothing I bed
I'm refereeing to how Tim Cook (and most CEO's) just care about paying the cheapest wage possible to their employees. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but they DO NOT care about immigrants. In their personal life they choose to live as far away from them as possible, in their gated communities, with armed security. What exactly are you mad at here? That immigrants are competing for jobs that a lot of Americans aren’t winning competitively in tech? That the immigrants aren’t white? Or are you upset that Americans chose long ago that cheaper items manufactured abroad were good enough for their money? Or are you upset that, frankly, the price premium on American made items often don’t justify the disparity in pricing on commodity items?
After all, most of the people complaining about things today were more than fine buying their clothes for the past 20 years when there was no “Made in the USA” label in sight.
I'm not saying this in a sarcastic manner, but do you really think Tim Cook lives in a "diverse" neighborhood?
Apple makes more than the Mac and the Mac makes up only a fraction of their revenue. Why do they need to get rid of him? To tank the company and pretend like people aren't moving toward cloud services? And Scott Forstall, who everyone else in senior management at Apple couldn't stand (incl. Craig and Jony)? Your advice sounds like it's right out of the Sculley playbook.
Strong CEO there. I applaud him for speaking up on these issues.

Tim Cook... always talks about everything except the Mac. They need to get rid of him and he can go into politics where he belongs. Time to bring back a product visionary like Jobs to run Apple. Scott Forstall is my pick.
“Apple doesn't give one dollar to political campaigns.”
But Apple executives give lots of money to political parties/candidates.

So he is donating for an open border nation?
Apple NEVER updated their machines twice a year. Rarely even annually. The Mac Mini is not a big seller and never was compared to the rest of the line. Same with time capsule, cinema displays, and frankly the entire airport line. Apple is not a computer company and hasn’t been for a long time. They are a technology, consumer goods and services company. It’s not going back, the industry itself is not going back. However, you seem hellbent on dragging Apple toward those products when virtually all other manufacturers of PCs as a critical component are struggling to survive.
Move on. Those days are long gone and the world has moved to cloud services served by largely agnostic terminals. But hey keep on fighting, and then complain later when your workflow is no longer current and you are displaced as a result.
Those DACA folks and H1B folks would have a better chance of staying if illegal immigrants weren’t cutting the line, but for Tim to state that truth would take courage. Question for you Tim: will you continue to employ them if they get deported? You know you still could, right? Set up satellite offices with that ~$260 Billion in Cash you have.
How many Republicans or Trump supporters work at Apple? How are they treated by management and others? Diversity isn’t just race, ethnicity or nationality... but it would take actual courage to say that, right Tim?
Let's talk about apps like https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/deen-e-islam/id1079308257?mt=8 That reads:
- "No wife can become lovable unless she fulfills the rights of her husband and keeps him pleased."
- "In case a woman is actually disobedient to her husband ... the husband should try to make his disobedient wife understand her fault ... if this too does not work then he can beat her lightly."
- "The modern age is an age of sexual liberation and sexual equality as preached in the West. Many a misguided Muslims have joined this ill-directed movement. So far as human equality is concerned men and women both are equal before Allah, but so far as the mundane life and management of households is concerned here as well as in all other human organizations the working principle is the superior-subordinate relationship or the principle of hierarchy."
Stop giving suppression of women a platform!
This was just one random islam app I downloaded and this is common islamic law, nothing extreem. Yet I was shocked.
