Scott was Steve’s protege. They got rid of him because they (especially Cook) feared him. Jobs liked a tough competitive nature in his employees. He liked them to compete to come up with the best ideas. Cook is more like “Let’s all hold hands and sing a song!” We’ll all be the best friends and no one is allowed to compete on ideas.
You do realize that you contradicted yourself in that paragraph? If not, here's a hint: "they got rid of him because..." and then "Cook is more like 'let's all hold hands...'".
Based upon the reputation he 'enjoys' online, Tim Cook must be an emotionally cold, calculating bean counter -- with absolutely zero vision or imagination beyond fiscal numbers. He certainly does not appear to be the Kumba-Ya type or a man who is out there to radically change the world or even disrupt the industry. There's no soul or culture left in anything that Apple does these days -- and if anything can be said about Apple led by Steve Jobs, then that there actually was a lot of culture in the products of that period. Today, it's all just reiterations of the same old, tired marketing scheme - but without soul.
