Didn't Phil Schiller just chastise the public for saying iPods, iPads, iPhones? So now it's okay to pluralize an Apple product? Marketing fail whoever came up with the name on this one.
AirPods is the proper noun name. It is singular

If "Airpods" was singular, it wouldn't be the correct type of noun. These come as a set, meaning there is more than one of them (like a pair of socks), therefore the name needs to reflect this and is plural in nature.

Apple CEO Tim Cook will appear on Good Morning America tomorrow, for what the show is calling a "wide-ranging and exclusive interview" with Robin Roberts at a school in Harlem in New York City.

In a minute long teaser clip shared on the Good Morning America Twitter account, Cook was asked about Apple's upcoming AirPods, where he alleviated fears that they're going to be easy to lose or will fall out of the ear.

Cook says AirPods will be kept safe in the dedicated battery case and because there are no wires, there's nothing to pull them out of the ear. "I have never personally had one fall out since I've been using it," he said. "They're absolutely magical." He went on to explain that he's used them on the treadmill and when dancing, all without incident.

Good Morning America didn't share details on other topics Cook will speak on, but given the recent announcement of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus and the launch of iOS 10, watchOS 3, and tvOS 10, we can expect to hear his views on those products.

Good Morning America's interview with Tim Cook will air on Wednesday, September 14, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

I wish that someone actually had the balls to ask him WTF he was thinking with these, right there on national TV.

Apple definitely wins the design game here! Fantastic... BuzzFeed put them through rigorous testing. The reviewer called it "black magic" because they stay in so well

Its a single product is what I meant. Saying AirPods is ok. iPhones is an incorrect term

Magical.. at least this fool can learn new words.

I was really getting sick of how each update is that it's the most advanced. He still hasn't learned every company makes the most advanced version when they release a new version!

Airpod...pssh....

With your product...this is what we get as a result. There are lot of good 3rd party types...and is formable. Not this cane bolt looking airpods...oh no.

And, of course, everyone's ears have evolved since the 50's.

Technology has as well :) Isn't HDMI better than composite, component or RF? USB over PS/2? It's immediately inconvenient, I agree, but it's just tech moving on. I'm more frustrated that the 'next step' in this case is based on proprietary Lightning. I think that'll change quickly though once samsung drops the headphone jack.

Can't wait for this.

I never bought into the nonsense that airpods would fall out. Apple always sweats these details. They wouldn't allow it to slip through.

Wow, I cant even get the standard earphone to stay in for 2 minutes, neither can my kids. Thats why the whole airpod announcement for me was a flop. Change to an in-ear design like many other earphones and I might consider them, but in their current design I wont bother

If you're suggesting that the audio quality of the 3.5mm jack is inferior, you would be in error.

Do you seriously think Samsung will adopt lightning?

The point is moving forward. Flash proved to be problematic for various reasons. The headphone jack is from the 50's. At *some* point a step forward has to be made.
Oh the irony. The number of people who are claiming that because the headphone jack has been around since the 1950s it should be removed, yet type their responses on a computer keyboard with a layout invented in 1872 is astounding. This is especially amusing considering the QWERTYUIOP layout used throughout the computer world today on keyboards was DELIBERATELY designed to slow down the speed of typing due to keys jamming on early typewriters. Perhaps Apple should get with the times and "invent" a faster keyboard layout too, rather than using a layout that is 144 years old?

Is it really necessary to go on GMA to pitch Apple products and reassure people that ditching the 3.5mm jack was the right decision?

Apple products used to practically sell themselves. How times have changed.

Why not?

It's outstanding (and free) advertising to hundreds of thousands of people, many of whom are potential customers. A CEO would be crazy to not take advantage of that.
