Then offer real battery replacements on all products, even old ones.
I just replaced the battery in the 2014 MBP. Was super easy.
Don't buy a product if you want to whinge about replacing a battery on a 5+ year old product.

Every person on this forum buys products knowing they cannot be recycled or will likely eventually end in landfill. Don’t be hypocrites. Rate them against competition if you want to feel all judgy on this if you want, but don't be a hypocrite. Pathetic.

Every little bit helps.

Does anyone know where I can get paper bin liners like this one at IKEA? They have a video of a lady being environmentally friendly with paper bin liners but you can’t get them at IKEA. Such bags seem to be rare as hen’s teeth (UK). I’d like to do my bit by avoiding plastic liners but they don’t make it easy. I’d have thought this would be near the top of the list for improving the environment.

Just support your products over longer periods of time Apple/Cook!
That would make a huge difference, not those empty words.

Walk the talk Apple, walk the talk. You don't talk big about environment and climate change but only do it from the perspective of your own coffers (eg. getting rid of chargers). You have to look at it from the consumer's point of view (eg. having to buy another charger to get the full feature of your phone).

From what I can see and understand, at least Apple makes some effort to design, manufacture and recycle their products in a considered manner.

I cannot think of another electronics company that comes close.

So its all well and good having a go at Apple, but they are the best of a bad bunch [by a far margin].

If apple really cared they would say we removed the power brick inside the box and reduced the price of phone by 20$(cost of the usb-c one). When they remove the cable they should do the same. We have dropped prices by 30$ on every phone line.
will it happen?
nope

I still think that Tim plans on entering politics.
In some ways, he already has. He never seems to be familiar with the products when he gives a speech during a product event. Have you noticed when he says, 'we are excited about X-Y-Z while maintaining his signature dead-pan expression?

So, just marketing.

They produce the costliest disposables on the planet, promote annual upgrade culture and are talking about climate change.
They recycle every bit of their products. Because of Apple’s software support, even when people upgrade, they either return their product or pass it down to other family members.
The phones that actually end up in the dumpster are cheap Android phones. I’ve never seen an Apple user who treats his Old Apple product as e waste. It is either maintained or recycled. Or atleast sold for some minimal resale value.

Yeah, a company that produces hundreds of millions of practically unrepairable stuff outside of their controlled and expensive repair facilities talks about climate change.

Not to mention they are actively fighting against right to repair and independent repair shops with lowball tactics like getting customs to seize spare parts shipments.
thought you were talking about the Leafs.j/k, but let’s hope there is some type of season.

I agree with your post And others. live their products but their preaching on green is hypocritica.l.
we all know building semiconductors is green about as the sun is cool.

So, one of the most wasteful packaging (which gets thrown into a landfill) companies in the world drops a power adapter (which gets plugged into a wall or thrown in a drawer), who makes so much money they're CxOs and VPs live like kings in multiple mansions while flying to climate conferences in private jets, and suddenly, I'm supposed to be convinced they care about the environment?

Sorry, it don't play here...
Add to that list your politicians (particularly the Democrat high and mighty saviors of the world) and you’ve summed it all up.

Elites shall live in royalty while the commoners live like peasants to compensate for the waste and gluttony of the elite.

I never bought into the climate change nonsense because it is so hypocritical. Don’t tell me to live one way when you live a completely different way. We see this with face coverings/masks in the COVID era too.

Meh! This is bad reasoning. I feel I need to do the right thing regardless if someone else does or doesn’t do the right thing.

TBQH technology has done a lot to make it so people don’t have to waste as much. However, like you and others have stated they’ve also created some waste themselves but perhaps longer term not as much waste. Tech companies have enabled people to go green more than anything else so..... I feel like the climate change issue is mostly one of landuse and overall consumption.

People can stop consuming so much. We don’t need to consume as much as we do.

They are against Right to Repair and don't believe in all the 3 R's (Reuse, Recycle & Reduce). Sure they recycle but without the Reuse it's not as effective. Making machines repairable, would go a long way to extending the reuse and life of products and reduce waste.
Are they against right to repair or is it that they want people to go through a certification process before repair.
