"The threat to them and Saudi Arabia"

Please. Saudi and Kuwait are two of the richest nations on the planet who suck the blood of the United States to provide for their own defense.

The only reason the United States went into Iraq was to defend the Petrodollar. Turns out when you base your worthless currency on a volatile commodity that is in the control of limited hostile nations, you become a slave to their interests. Don't believe me? Then see how the USA has been Saudi's attack dog over the last 25 years in regard to oil-rich nations hostile to Saudi hegemony in the region.

So, no, it wasn't "just" by any means. It was a waste of American lives and resources to further the interests of an oil-rich, hostile nation.

"Serve"

lol

Yeah, you've proven my point. You know little about history and even less about military history... have fun with that.

Peace

sorry, I just watch too many super-heroe movies, you "saved" who..?

Perhaps you are too young to remember, don't read history, are having a bad snark day, or are just as intelligent as your posts suggest. Regardless of which is most accurate, yes, WE (the USA) at the request of the world (the UN) saved the Kuwati's from Saddam Hussein's military occupation in 1990/1991.

That really isn't a debatable fact. But please, have the last word with some snarky, unintelligent response. I'm out...

Peace

You clearly don't understand how the American Empire works. Keep your head in the sand, old timer. Rah, rah, wave that blood-stained flag under the auspices of the UN (just one head of the American Imperial Hydra).

Those poor Kuwaitis and Saudis! Why are they persecuted so?

I bet you believe that Hussein and Gaddafi were tyrants that deserved their toppling, yet the house of Saud is A-Ok.

"For the laaaaaaand of the free....and the Hoooooome of the...brave!"

Trump could just decide he’s not going to spend another day getting anything done as president, and fake news media ruined it for everybody and he’s over pretending to be the boss of America all together and resistance got the best of his administration, and he’s going to play golf at his resorts nonstop for 4-8 years to give Americans the grandest middle finger of all...

But by securing his SCOTUS pick, a title that has a life long term (something I have my doubts of that everyone in this thread is already aware of), he’s gotten plenty done already indeed :D

I actually need to remind myself of this, when I’m getting impatient that he hasn’t gotten anywhere near everything done I would like to see done.

But by the end of the day, and even as I wake up every day— I’m relieved most of all, not pissed like Hillary fans, that Hillary isn’t president. Different strokes lol

And I also need to remind myself, not as an apologist but just a realist, we’re 8 months into a term but my impatience has grown rapidly because with the media/relentless complaining and unfounded theories, by illusion of Perception its felt like friggin YEARS and YEARS

I genuinely am optimistic in that i dont think the MSM’s business model, or fatiguing narrative, is sustainable to force on the public. I think they have short-sighted goals for what should be a marathon of a plan. A lot see through it. And its still REALLY early on, so for people to see the bs, is concerning for people controlling the narrative

He’s done more in 70+ days than Obama did in 8 years. Obama was busy going around the world apologizing for what America stands for, now we have a leader who is on the ground in Houston helping the millions in danger there. Wall Street and economy are at all time highs.

Fake News will never get over Clinton (who should be in JAIL) losing, it burns them up everyday

The whole dang house of cards (but really whats proven nothing more than globalist HRC/Obama/other Clinton/Bushes smoke and mirrors) is falling down, and the smoking gun is just how vitriolic and out of touch and outlandish media is getting with their narrative if nothing else in my opinion, but of course theres always plenty else.

Even some people who were unobservantly complacent witth the slow drip (since I already used that analogy, but derogatively in a previous post haha) are waking up, looking at the big needle in their arm, and freaking out wondering what in the heck is going on and how did I end up in a coma laying in this bed?

This Trump hysteria is nauseating!

People act as though they're disappointed they didn't get Clinton part 2 or Bush part 3. Give it a rest - every damn website is being infected & turned into CNN.

“Being” ?

Been. :D

No, you bumped the economy (thank you!). You and the rest of us, consumers. We need to stop looking at corporations as being a force for social good. It's quite the opposite. They have only on fiduciary duty and it's not to you, the environment or the government. It's to shareholders. That's it.

Yeah and it's true I have a few shares (very few, alas) but I wouldn't have bothered even to be a consumer if the gear hadn't been Apple's... so it was a combo... Apple and I (and a lot of other Apple gear aficionados) holding up the economy. Plus a lot of their stuff stays functional for at least 8 years. That's a lot more than I can say for some of the washing machines, cars, hot water heaters and microwave ovens I've bought in the past 30 years.

So I do give Apple a lot of credit for keeping me interested in "supporting the economy" by buying their gear. And they are a force for good. Not every corporation has gone to all renewables with its sever farms, for instance. Maybe that's for shareholders too  as tech investors do tend to be a forward-looking bunch even if they're also just trying to make a buck. Shareholders today can reward companies for being eco-considerate, and punish them for behaving otherwise. It's an option to take that into consideration when making investments. Not a requirement, but an option. And it's Apple's option to take shareholders' indications along those lines into consideration when it decides how to source its supply chains or power its facilities.

That's right. Propaganda, unfortunately, works. Without the fake news and liberal bias in colleges, it would be all red. So great point you made there.

"Fake news" is a fake story disseminated by Trump in order to intimidate and discredit news organizations that point out his continual, pathological lying. The same with "rigged polls," an idea that he introduced only when he started to slip in them. He even accused the Emmys of being rigged when he didn't win.

And maybe without Russian interference, it would all be blue. ;)

"Cook also said he believes that the government has become less functional over time and that businesses have a responsibility to "step up" in areas like job creation."

Ok guys and gals, smaller government is a GOOD thing. The bigger the government gets, the smaller we the people get. The smaller our freedoms. The smaller our individuality. Doesn't Tim stand for these very things? I believe he does. However, he calls for government to get more involved? Eh, doesn't make sense.

Hmm. Over time I've become more convinced that government is incompetent at most things and that economic activity has always been driven by businesses and individuals.
The government is what keeps lending going especially during a crisis. Otherwise you will have a massive depression on your hands.

For everyone who screams regulations are bad for business, I don't think they realize, if there were no regulations, we'd essentially have let Corporations run rampant over everyones lives.

Corporations, who are hell bent on profiteering do not care about the health and well being of their employees, Especially when there's a surplus of workforce and easily replacable. if they weren't held responsible for safety, they wouldn't care, since Safety measures cost money.

Corporations, would not care about the environment or using up resources. As they would only care about profit and the more that they can mine / reap, the benifits and not care about the costs.

if you want to see how bad it can get. look at the poluted rivers problems of the 60's -80's where there were entire lakes and rivers that were deemed too polluted to even swim in, nevermind use for drinking water. Look at the 80s-90s problems of acid rain which had potential devastating affects on wildlife and resources.

Regulations, enforced by government have given people job safety and security to not be abused by their employers, and have provided safety for our world and our future. I'm sorry if it means you can't have the insane growth of business every quarter like you used to. Tough, Economy is not, and should not be the #1 priority in life. is it important for a healthy society. YES. is it the only and most important thing? no. sometimes limits on economy and corporations have positives outside of the economy that are just as important
That's what these self proclaimed moderates and libertarians don't seem to get through their thick skull.

It's uncanny how this photo looks so similar to one of the scenes in the movie 'The Circle.' Moreover, this articles' title, and its relevance to the storyline about Apple as a company. While I have no opinion one way or the other, I find it fascinating how fiction mirrors reality.

A patriot that dodged the draft to avoid serving; by lying and saying his foot hurt.

Trump is a patriot of Russia.

While I certainly don't doubt your assertion about President Trump. I mean, we all know that he plays loose with the truth. Even so, I would love to have the reference you cited regarding how he lied; so that I may pass that along as fact vs. hearsay.

I have said this before and I will repeat again: Tim Cook is running for president in the next election AND he is going to win. Write that down.

Works for me, I don't live in the US. Whatever gets rid of him I suppose..

Prisma, iPhone App of the Year for 2016, recently announced a "pivot" away from the iOS App Store ... clearly, Cook needs to focus on fixing the iOS App Store first ... it is an absolute disaster from an App Developer perspective !

Cook needs to get his House in order BEFORE looking outwards !

He has been CEO for five years, and the iOS App Store disaster is worse now than it was when he first took over as CEO !

Clearly, Apple is run by an extremely weak Board of Directors, or they would hold his feet to the fire !

Great post. Couldn't agree more.

Just wanted to say that not everyone agrees with this libertarian-like hatred of government. I can see where some government overreach could be less than beneficial, but on the other hand the smaller government becomes the more we are subject to the ill effects of unchecked corporate greed that also limits our freedoms.

Point well taken. Totally with you in that we need A government and some is good. Not a hater of government, just big government.

Just keep in mind that a so called greedy corporation can't take your freedom, unless empowered by your government. In which case you certainly have a problem. It's never the corporation you have to fear, but only your government. A corporation can't throw you in jail for not buying their product. Even if they did, I don't think they would stay in business lol.

I would have taken Al Gore as President any day over Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton if he had run in the last election.
Your error in judgement will become very visible in about 2 years. The R policies if implemented are less socialistic and more capitalistic. Capitalism has risen more people out of poverty than any other system by far. We will see together.
