Why is the government's job to decide what is good for children? Isn't that the job of the parents? Seems very "big government"...
That's why I said what I said. This type of stuff should not be taught in schools. Unfortunately there's far too many that feel this sort of ideology needs to be promoted at all costs, hence the indoctrination currently infesting schools/ciriculum. In cases such as that, the government needs to step in, protect children and put a stop to it.

Says who? Who has the right to say this should or should not be taught in schools? Gay people exist. Tim Cook is one of them. If we can't say it's OK to be gay to kids, then they'll feel like they have something wrong with them if they are indeed gay (because after all, gay people are born gay).

There are direct correlations between reducing resources for non-straight kids and an increase in suicides.

While some people take things too far with their rhetoric, there are some valid concerns about some specific material and parents should ultimately have more control and oversight over their kid's education.

However, if parents are abusive to their gay kids, they absolutely should have CPS come after them.

Of course there should be moderation. Drag shows don't belong in schools for example. But don't dehumanize a gay kid and tell them that they're "other" because they aren't straight. That's ridiculous. Plus, one parent shouldn't have the right to dictate to another child how they should learn. That's when the "parents' rights" movement goes sideways. Parent A has a right to have control over Child A's learning, but Parent A doesn't have a right to control Child B's learning.

Here in Florida, the "specific material" thing was something though. Once books were allowed to be banned by request of an adult, it was discovered many adults who didn't even have kids attending school or were childless were the ones making requests. Then liberals joined in and had Christian books removed from schools as they were also considered offensive. It was all a farce. Eventually Governor DeSantis admitted his book ban law went too far.

Tim Cook donated one million $$$$ of his own money to Trumps inauguration ball
All the big tech goo Roos will be there

That's not true at all. The original curriculum for Child B and Child C were taken away by Parent A.
It is true. In your scenario you mentioned nothing about it being taken away or having it changed. You said Parent A made a complaint. That's all. Parents B & C can also make complaints or offer support in favor of the current curriculum. It (I would assume) would then go to a school board for review, public comment etc and only then would changes (if any) would be enacted.

If nothing changes and Parent A is still pissed then they can remove their child (as can Parents B & C) from the school and go to another school, or homeschool.

That's fair. I feel the adequate policy here would be to have an alternative curriculum for the parents of kids who are offended by LGBTQ books. That way their children are taught the way they want, and they don't force their will on the other students and parents who could care less about the penguin character in the book being gay, for example.

I stopped reading/watching "news".

PoliticalWire.com ? I have stopped going. Haven't visited the site in more than a week now. It's like quitting an addiction.

X? Deleted.
Threads? Deleted.
Tik Tok / Instagram vertical videos? Deleted.

Drudge Report? No longer go.

CNN? Don't watch anymore.

I don't want to see his face. I don't want to hear his voice.

Constantly watching "news" and being outraged at all the crap he is doing is just not healthy. He and his supporters thrive on trolling and saying outrageous offensive things. Best to just pay no mind.

I will go to MacRumors. I will do software development stuff.

I will read more books, and go on "news" less.

Just stop paying attention to this stuff.

Has there been any "news items" from the past 8 days? Well guess what, I have no idea what happened, and I don't want to know.

It's going to get a lot worse. Jan 20 I will be going to work, focusing on learning more software development stuff, paying attention to family, and just not checking sites or news or anything.
I installed the Chrome Trump news blocker which seemed to work pretty well, but it and others like it are already being pulled by Google.

Paying the dictator fee
What was it called when they did that for Obama and Biden? Let me guess, liberation fee? 😄

Excellent points! Well said.

Tim Cook is highly evil for donating to and attending Trump's inauguration. That's because such donations erode democracy and solidify plutocracy.

Cook's support of Trump means Cook supports oligarchy, not democracy. Cook supports oligarchy because that's what's best for shareholders.

By Cook donating to and attending Trump's inauguration, it's clear that all of his previous public social justice stances were nothing more than inauthentic virtue signaling. Apple SJW-CEO Tim Cook is a phony who does not genuinely care about social justice.

Cook is a horrible human being. When history looks back at Trump having fascistic tendencies, as well as colonialist tendencies, and being a warmonger with plenty of blood on his hands, I hope that Cook is remembered and villified as someone who supported that with both his large amount of money as well as his presence.
Everything silicon valley and the left does is virtue signalling. From the stupid watch bands to the rainbow colored logos once a year. The more virtue we put out there the worse things get. Thankfully a lot of that is finally getting pulled back with the retraction many corporations are doing with DEI initiatives.

Correct, he has always been racist.
Lazy response. Such as?

Then there are all the liberals who say they don't have a problem with the millions of migrants that have flooded in to this country since Biden took over. But I have yet to see one video of any Democrat willing to open their home up to a migrant or a migrant family. Its basically like this: They don't mind the migrants flooding in to this country. But they also don't want them anywhere in or near their back yards. Gee, how ironic is that?
That's not true. Take a look at Martha's Vineyard. People were there waiting to receive them with... Oh wait, never mind. 😄

You left the most important part out from that 51 year old case. They were not found guilty.

They settled the lawsuit, which they were not required to acknowledge discrimination but the settlement was still described as the Trumps failed and neglected to comply with the Fair Housing Act and they had to change their practices.

And yet another ignorant comment from a Trump hater. I say ignorant because you must have not understood my previous post about how Trump campaigned over 60 days straight without a single day off. And yet you say he spends more time sitting than standing. Another dumb reply from a Trump hater.

Who's next?
The guy is almost 80, way past retirement. He had a huge incentive to campaign for President, to pardon himself and avoid jail. From some of the news clips I saw of Trump during his campaign he seemed very tired, slurring speech, mispronouncing words, and perhaps behaving loopy because he was so tired.

Yes, I don’t like Trump. He wants to put 25% tariffs on Canada…for what? He claims because there is a trade surplus in Canada’s favour (when Americans have a much larger population and you buy a lot of energy and resources from Canada) or because he has this really stupid ignorant concept he can use economic force to make Canada a 51st state (by far the dumbest thing he has uttered so far). The tariffs could also simply be collateral damage on Canada because the actual target is China; put tariffs on Canada and Mexico to soften the tariffs blow on China. China's trade surplus with the US is enormous compared to Canada and China has 1,100 million more people compared to the US.

No, the slurred speech and mispronounced words are because he's an imbecile. Nothing to do with tiredness.

In Europe we have a name for this behavior….corruption.
That have it in the US too but the first 10 characters are silent.
We have cronies in the Uk, not saying for a second that we're even remotely close to the word perfect, (in fact I'm not even sure I should use that word in the same discussion as the word Trump).
But what I see/hear happening in the states truly boggles my mind.

I watched a film called Dark Water, (has Mark Ruffalo - it's worth a watch), last night and what large corporations do in full view of the powers that be is truly shocking.

I assume you can provide evidence to back up this claim?
Huh, evidence?? Why??
No need anymore! This is a new era!
Anyone can say everything he/she wants, without a shred of evidence. Well, as long as it supports the new oligarchic system ofcourse. Or does that go both ways?
You can say anything you want...no moderation! Hurray!
Saddening , criminal and stupid.
