Im in the same boat here with a backup reservation and afraid to cancel....anyone able to check Miami, FL for stock? 128GB iPhone Plus in Rose Gold and a 128Gb Plus in black? ATT
I asked two pages ago for miami and someone said there was stock as of 12am this morning but i havent canceled mine and risked it yet. Actually on the phone will apple now to see if they can check the stock for me. What sucks is i wanted the Jet Black...which at this point seems like a running joke.

EDIT: Actually I have an iphone rose gold ATT reserved at dadeland that I WILL NOT be taking.
 
I was able to get a matte black 7 Plus 128 at my store this morning - for the heck of it I checked about 10 minutes after I got my reservation and all of the 7 Plus's were gone again!

I have the same support guy ramone12781 handling my case and its been 48 hours, still nothing.....he told me to hold on to the 8am reservations i made for the 7 on Friday in case they have stock to swap for 7+ in store...Im afraid to cancel my current reservations to check for stock in the app though :-(

Once you make a reservation it seems it wont show stock information for the iphone 7+ for your account, thats why it looks like its sold out.

Yeah i feel you, thats why I am on the phone so they can check the stock without risking it. Will update after. Let us know if you risk it and try to change your reservations
 
I bit the bullet and cancelled. All the stock showed up...The falls in Miami has black 128GB starting at 9:30 AM.
 
Can someone please check the San Antonio, Texas stores? North Star or La Cantera? Please :)

I just canceled my black 7 128gb in NEW YORK CITY and managed to get a 7+ 128gb.

Take the leap of faith. it works guys.
 
WARNING to those who thought they had a phone reserved after speaking with someone from the retail executive team or an IUP rep.

My guy just called and told me to go on the app or online and reserve. I said "so we don't have a phone reserved?" Basically he said no this is how it had to be done.

Monday I was told I would just go in the store Friday and give them my name! Glad I followed up!

I am incredibly disappointed in this customer service experience. I want out of this dumb program!

Was 930AM the earliest?

9:30 am is the earliest for black. Dadeland had all colors except for black starting at 8am. I have to go to Dadeland at 8am to pick up the rose gold for my wife and then off to the falls at 9:30 to get the black for myself. It's going to be a busy Friday lol

Well I am keeping my reservation for 8AM at dadeland for the rose gold and will try to swap for the illusive jet black phone. If they dont have it i guess ill have to wait. Sucks
 
So after the advice that all we're getting is what's in the pool, I reserved one at Potomac Mills (since my closest stores all were cleaned out overnight!) and as we know, now I can't check anything for anyone. All I can see is 7's. Hope the res holds to the weekend or I'll have to wait for new stock to show up.

This better work more smoothly next year, lol.

If you're set on Jet Black it's probably going to be a bit. According to the email I got none are available for pickup...who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
 
Process yes, but the additional stock seems limited to upgrading IUP members without a reservation

Agree, few folks at work have tried to reserve and get nothing in stock. Once I got my reservation email, all be it it does not show on my support page that I have one, I can no longer see any 7+ in the DMV but can see 7's. Appears once you reserve you can no longer see stock.
 
I reached a person named Joel on Sunday who took down my info and estimated a 1-2 day turnaround for a follow up call. I was strictly looking for a Jet Black Plus in 256 or 128 as a last resort, but only if I could pick it up on launch day.

There's been no follow up from Joel, he hasn't responded to any of my emails, and I'm approaching my 13th payment (like many of you). That 13th payment would actually mean two extra payments (one now, another next year when the next phone releases). If that 13th payment hits and there's no remedy to the unnecessary payments made, I'm just going to buy out the rest of the contract and pay full price for my phones again. This has just not been worth the hassle and time wasted, this entire ordeal is an incredible ********.

My Apple Support (I think IUP) contact is off until Friday, but I did email the executive team member I'd talked to earlier and he's sure there's a phone reserved. He said the retail store folks probably won't be briefed before Friday, but by then they will know. He said he'd confirm and get back to me by the end of the day. I hope so because my local store still has nothing I'd want in stock.

Whatever you hear, keep updating, I will too. Including whatever my experience is on Friday.

Interesting.... If The IUP Team is actually going to create 'personal' reservations for those of us that called in, so much the better. My agent is off until Friday, also, and we can cancel the reservations we did make through the app when we get notification of the 'other' one.

But a little more communication could help!
 
Thanks for reminding me I needed to update: talked to store people again today. The only new info is they seem more certain that they will be able to find my phone when the system goes live Friday. They told me this morning that they will be using a scan of serial and IMEI to find the phone that was supposed to be manually ordered for me. I didn't tell them this, they told me....so it appears they got more info since last night when I stopped by. He again stressed that the situation was fluid and that more info continues to be provided to them. This also matches the info I was given by my IUP rep when I called after the store last night and she said they would work on getting more info to store managers.

There is a story on apple insider that would seem to indicate those of us who were in the first batch of calls (which I confirmed I was) had their order manually placed by the IUP rep. Those who were in a later batch are being contacted and told to just reserve it now for themselves as stock is being added.

I will reserve one if it opens up at my local store to be sure, but so far nothing. The worst part is since last night the exact model I want is available at another store that is an hour from my house. I have to work at 11:30 am friday, I could make it to either, but after being reassured multiple times I am not gonna select that one because I cannot risk being late for work. If I don't have it Friday like they promised.......ohhhh boy.
