Looks like they are not pulling from
Store stock....I got the email to just show up today and they don't have my phone....yet. They said it will be there "sometime" today....sucks I have a job lol

I have a "confirmed reservation" for a 7+ black/256 for this afternoon, but I received an email saying that the phone I want will be available for pickup on Monday 9/26. Is it two phones, or did my "confirmed" reservation become unconfirmed? Oh well, the store is on my way home, so I guess I will show up with my barcoded reservation confirmation and see what happens. Is is my imagination, or does this iPhone rollout seem much more of a charlie foxtrot than normal?

Just got another phone call from Austin confirming my reservation from the IUP/ERT (Tim's response team). She explicitly said I had my 256 Plus Black Verizon waiting and the res was good for a week (since I can't be there until the weekend).

Also said her contact info would be coming and to let her know if there were any issues.

All of this sounds like inventory is extremely tight and assigned and if you don't have a specific reservation, don't try. Now if you have that and it's not there, someone definitely messed up.

On the CF, definitely, since inventory had to be reallocated from normal to IUP and who knows what else had to happen to fix the snafu.

Hey Guys just came back from store with my iP7+ JB :D

I haven't gotten an email (I called Monday night, followed up again last night), but I did get a phone call this afternoon, asking my preferences for model and store - apparently my entry in the system went into the bit bucket, never to be seen again. I get to go to the back of the line.

I'm beyond livid right now.

I'm done with this program. Buying out the rest of my contract and paying full price from now on. This type of treatment is beneath me.

Ok here is what is went through. First to get it out of the way I got my IPhone 7 plus 256 in black (Glad for this wanted the Jet Black but after looking at it glad they did not have it!). Had my appointment after much back and forth with this "wonderful upgrade program". Well we're do I start, first waited in line for one and half hours after my appointment time. Now here where it get strange as soon as they called up my reservation they did they did not have it and had to call, I found a lot of folks had this as well. Now I saw and heard a few folks told that there is nothing they could do and these folks walked away with no phone. Well not I, I said heck no I want to talk to manager, well after a little back and forth they surprisingly found my phone and I got it. Now I am not saying this as on purpose but speaking to some folks I found a lot of folks were "turned away". I am thninking this may have been the plan. Another customer that was about to walk away saw why I was doing and they took my lead and they "found there phone". I would like to know if others have had or experienced this? The store was very friendly and to be honest I did not envy them as this was not on them but Apple.

After all this, I ended up having a wonderful experience. Picked up a matte black 256gb 7+ today with the IUP and the exchange was so fast I didn't even realize we were done until she asked if she could help with anything else. I had to travel a bit outside my home zone to get it, but I didn't mind. Renewed for another year, and hoping they've learned how to make this easier for next time.

So I assume the whole ''new loan" was a lot easier than last year?

Still a credit check but the whole process from scanning my reservation to me walking out the door was <5 minutes. They took my old phone and I immediately got a charge for $137 (first payment plus tax) and an email from Citizens. then again, i didn't have much of an issue last year either...

Hmm. I guess I won't go in this morning then.

I stopped by the store around 2:30 (which was when I finally had a chance to break for lunch). There were only 6 people waiting including me, I had my black 256GB 7+ restoring from an iCloud backup by 3. (Hopefully next year I'll remember to make a mid-afternoon appointment.)

One tip: the phone asked for a backup, then wanted to download the 10.0.1 update. Then it forgot about restoring from the backup. The setup specialist had me wipe the phone and start over, it worked that time.

One other thing, I noticed the TOS specified that I agree to go in to the store to upgrade next year . . . we'll see. I have a phone on launch day, so yay about that, but it wasn't exactly easy. If it doesn't soon become clear there's an incentive to stay in the program I'm just going to pay it off.

Great, new credit check of course, but glad it was so quick. I think mine was about 15 minutes last year. She has issues with the Apple scanner device.

Why does T-Mobile need an account number and why did they make me select a plan?

My process was somewhat painful but it wasn't too bad. I was at Apple Store 5th Ave and it started with being unable to turn off find my iPhone on my previous device. That took at least 5-10 minutes because Apple servers must've been jammed. Then I had to search for my account number because I didn't know I needed it. That took at least 5-10 minutes. Then the printer wasn't working and that took at least 15 minutes and when the associate came back she came back with the wrong receipt so I had to go back and change it. In the end it worked out fine though and I'm not complaining. Hopefully T-Mobile makes it easier next year.

Nice! Did you get an email before now? Some of us got emails on Friday morning and others before that? When was your last contact before this last email?
I had a voicemail on Thursday stating I would receive an email later in the day with my pick up information. When I didn't hear anything I called Friday morning which was the last contact I've had with Apple.

Got super lucky I think. Friday night (Saturday morning at 12:01) I checked and my local Nashville store had an iPhone 7+, jet black, 128 gb. I reserved it and got it Saturday morning. The people working the store said they hadn't even seen a jet black 7+ in person yet and someone from Friday must have not shown up for their appointment.

I was one of the original people who called the IUP people and been told I would get one by October 3rd.

Keep checking guys!

That's like a modern day miracle lol. It seems that the iPhone 7+ jet black is this years unicorn.

So just a close out. I managed to somehow snipe a reservation on Friday for a 256G Black ATT 7+, but I had to drive to Sacramento (from San Jose) to get it. I suspect someone in Sac didn't pick up their phone so it got released to the pool. So I got that Friday night. Yay!

Yesterday (Sunday) morning, I got an email from Apple saying that they had a phone reserved for me at the Infinite Loop store today (Monday the 19th). All I have to do is check in and speak to the Manager. So they ARE getting people phones, and quickly.

I'm off to the store to tell them to release it - so if any of you are Bay Area local waiting, you might get a ping soon!
