Well this obviously isn't going to happen tonight...I was excited midnight, happy to wait till 2am, and now this is ridiculous.

That page went down right before I reserved a 7+ in Hawaii. There went all good for tonight lol

Well we know all day the iUP site has been live while the regular site has stayed at 12:01, and our theory is that they were giving preference to iUP because of preorder fails.

So my theory is that this means that iUP priority has finished, and starting tomorrow reservations and purchases on all phones will be open to all people. They probably just need some time to update the site??

Here's to hoping we can get some phones tomorrow. Good luck everyone!

But how are they selling phones today (Sunday)? Ugh

Maybe they got shipments at the end of the day today, and instead of putting them up for the last hour of stores being open they held them for tomorrow stock? I don't know. At this point anything any of us say is pure speculation because Apple isn't telling us anything and reps don't know any more than we do. It's all a lottery and guessing game now.

Under what mechanism? The regular site is still locked out for in store pickups... and the reservation site has been the only way. If the regular site was to allow for next day pickups it has historically gone live the night before. But Apple is not known for consistency lately. Customers are just afterthoughts these days unfortunately in the new world of Apple.

Exactly why I ended my post by saying anything at this point is speculation. It's just a small theory, and I'm trying to look on the bright side that some people may have a chance of getting a phone tomorrow.

I almost feel disrespected. It's a phone. And I'm paying a lot of money for it. Apple really disrespects its customers like this, really sad.

True

Apple is laughing as they watch buyers jump through hoops, do back flips and exhaust their imaginations trying to obtain the unobtainable ...

The irritating part of this for me is that at least in previous years, despite tight supply, you felt like you had some sort of a chance if you were patient and persistent. This year, the preorder experience was messy and Apple's even telling us to not even bother coming in. So weird

Only in the bizarro world of AppleLand are buyers so desperate.

It's why they create artificial supply constraints. The news would never report a story about Samsung even though samsung outsells apple 1000:1 on any given launch say... why? Because Samsung and Google (Nexus launches) they supply ample phone to meet demand. Apple purposely does this, I hope people realize that... to make the look of there being a huge demand for the phone (which there is 1000x the demand for a Samsung or Nexus on launch day).

Imagine the headline... "Apple releases the iPhone 7 and everyone got their phone and stores are now empty, it's 8:30 am on launch day" .... doesn't sell phones.

I just realized that the site went down right after 12 pacific time. That can't be a coincidence since a lot of what Apple does is based around their home time zone in Cupertino. I still think it's a sign they're revamping something for the morning. Only time will tell.

Which part of my comment did you find "desperate?"

And FYI you may want to look up the term "desperate" ... sitting home on a Saturday night and loading a web page doesn't imply desperate. Fanatic maybe. Suckers definitely. Supporting a company who treats their customer base like crap definitely.

Since Hawaii had been updated with a good sized stock of pluses before it when down..... i'm waiting until this damn site reo

Calling it quits at 1..... Waking up anyway at 7, so we'll see if it's back by then
