Sigh, another day, another swing and miss for me. At this rate, November will be here before I know it. I had actually resolved to reserve either black at this point and still struck out. I leave for a three week work trip next Thursday, at this point, with my luck, they will attempt delivery and it will come "early" while I am gone.

Yeah true... I think the official policy is that they don't allow it but maybe some reps will let it slide? The person I worked with was adamant I could only do it through IUP otherwise the reservation would be cancelled.

My guy was a chill dude - a transplant from SoCal. He didn't care how I paid.

Trying to call and see if i'm going to be turned away if I got pick up this jet black. I called 3 minutes after opening and found out if the phone lines are busy and nobody answers at the store, the calls get re-routed to corporate. The dude at corporate told me it's for the program, but if I make it clear what I was doing and purchasing outright, then I shouldn't have a problem with what I was doing. It's an hour drive for me into an area I'm not familiar with and asked if there was anyway to confirm with the store. Supposedly corporate has a direct extension to the stores for times their lines are busy and trying to currently confirm with the store. Came back while I was typing this and the corporate dude said the gentleman at the store said I'd be fine.

Grabbed a reservation for a MB 128 7+, ATT, from the Grand Central store in NYC last night at around 11p.m. It wasn't there/available earlier so not sure how they got additional stock at that time.

Did it through the Apple Store app, paid in full, picking up later today. Right place right time I suppose.

I didn't use the reservation system because I'm not part of the iUP, but I finally found a store within a 20 minute radius that had the 256gb Black plus model in stock!

I found the exact model.

Wasn't looking for a 256GB Model, but went ahead and grabbed. I've gotta 128GB iPad, was hoping to get the same storage in a iPhone.

But I know that I won't have to worry about storage with the 256GB model.

Yes, I was also searching that way last night and this am. You're lucky - congrats! Every time I would find a MB, it disappeared by the time I'd finished filling out the form. Because I want to turn in my 6 to ATT, and need to buy a phone by tomorrow, I gave up on the MB that I really wanted and took a silver.

Anyone reserve one today using IUP and sign up for it in store ?

Got my order for later tonight to pick up mine and want to get a guide for success.

Ugh drove all the way down here and the dude in line checking reservationists in is giving me a hassle about purchasing device only 90min drive for nothing after being told I'd be fine

reserved last night via iUP link... walked in store today and told them I wanted to do the AT&T next plan. No questions asked.

Big thanks to this thread. After a little bit of issue with the employee, walked away with the 7+/256/JB Verizon device only. The employee eventually got the Business Manager for me who straightened everything out. There were actually two business managers there or maybe 1 former, but I was handled by those that had business manager experience. The gentleman that handled my transaction, had said the employees don't really know this but the business managers do, but you can select "device only" on the transaction screen that lists the carrier. He actually showed it to me. It was in the list. If getting kick back from an employee, hope there's a business manager on site and ask for that individual

Side note... There were quite some salty people in line with reservations. Was kind of shocked by that. Just hope the next launch is handled better, but the gentleman had told me that the 6s was about the same after asking because it was my 1st going from Android/Iphone 3G to Android last like 8 years to a use 5 the last 2 months to this.

Every time i would find a phone on the IUP reservation link i would always get "service Unavailable". Yesterday I was able to figure out how to bypass that and reserve the phone!

Reserved my IP 7 Plus 256gb Matte black phone at my local Apple Store. I was pretty nervous after my experience and getting turned away already once. ESPECIALLY since I got my reservation confirmation and the FAQ had changed stating that you could only upgrade to carrier finance if you were already enrolled in the IUP.

I took a shot and still went down hoping for the best. I left work early and checked in. The girl that helped me was super nice and we chatted about things while she was waiting for them to bring the phone out. She asked me if i wanted to do the IUP and i said that i was actually hoping i could get it on ATT Next. She was totally cool with it and didn't ask any questions. I was watching her as she went through the check out options on her screen and she totally knew what she was doing. When it prompted for the IUP she simply hit "other offers" and it brought up the option to pay in full or with Carrier financing, in my case it showed ATT Next. Literally in and out of the apple store within 10 minutes with my iPhone 7Plus.

Thanks to everyone on here for all the advice and guidance on how to get this done! If you are getting caught with that "service unavailable" on the IUP Reservation link Message me and I'll let you know how i did it!

Finally! I got my Verizon 7+ Matte Black 32GB. Reserved on IUP, was a bit nervous since they changed policy. But my specialist was great and he asked me if I wanted to pay as Device only or through IUP. I said Device and he selected it on his iPhone and I paid in full! In and out within 10 mins. :)

Successful purchase from the IUP link today! Reserved a AT&T 256GB matte black Iphone 7 plus online last night at midnight at the Cupertino Infinite loop location. Walked in and asked if I could do it on the ATT next plan since I'm a current next plan user. Had no issues!

Oh Wow, I happened to score a Jet Black 256 7+ Verizon there too. 30min drive for me, and that store was so busy when we got there. There was a group of Asian resellers that were buying ridiculous amounts of 7Pluses and iPads. Good thing that I got assigned a nice specialist who said it would be easier for me to buy device only rather than do IUP for my reservation. I did not complain. This specialist also told me that they had a jet black shipment about 10-20 units (7 and 7+ total).

Quite possible that may have been the business manager, Andrew, that helped me with my employee level issue as he took over the reservation line at about 2:30 and seemed to have been the most knowledgeable with the situation.
