I thought I'd post in this thread since my situation is somewhat similar to what's been discussed except for 1 thing, I didn't have to choose anything before placing the order.

Info/What Happened:

Currently, I have a 5s on an UDP line with an eligible upgrade on the same line. Initially, I clicked through my reservation link in the email sent to place this order. During this session, it did ask for me to change my plan however I accidentally closed the Safari tab where I was placing the order. I clicked through the email link again and after entering in my wireless number and verification info, it went straight to the payment portion of the order.

I enabled video screen capture during the last few steps of the order and took several screenshots. Both the order confirmation screen (screenshot attached) and the email confirmation showed just the 2 year agreement and the $30 upgrade fee, unlike what others have posted where it shows the plan, messaging, data, etc.

I'm a bit worried about what it might mean when I get the phone in terms of my UDP. I was planning on just putting in the sim card from the 5s and destroying the sim card that comes w/ the 6+ so hopefully that also prevents something weird from happening!

I'm curious what you all think about this and if anyone else has seen the same thing?

Just tried it and I can add unlimited data to the plan. I do have the old so that's probably why. I have no need for another unlimited data line. However since they are going to start throttling next month, not sure how this would be great.

Yeah, hopefully the FCC, or whoever has authority, can stop Verizon from their plan to throttle but highly unlikely.

I agree they won't stop. However on my monthly bill it says that they will throttle if I meet the minimum contract term. So I guess if I'm under contract I'm excluded?

i just did this as well! it has been charged to my cc and crossing my fingers as well this actually works. I was wondering if there is a way to port an existing vz phone number out and then back in using the add a line. I currently have a vz line with a number i would like to keep but still have unlimited.

You can't change the number or Verizon will remove the unlimited.

well what i was thinking is port out a current tiered data line phone number and then do the add a line by porting it back to save my number. I tried to do a port with the add a line and it says this phone number is already a verizon number.

also when i ordered on verizon's site i got a phone number on the spot for the preordered phone. I didn't see an option on the apple site to pick an area code or see what my new number would be.

Could I just port my number to google voice and attach that to the new line??????

Holy sh@t! I just added a single line on verizon with unlimited data! 64gb iPhone 6+ $399 done! Should be interesting to see what happens. I already have an unlimited data line on verizon that I use so if it really stays unlimited on this new line I'll just give it away to someone that wants it since it will have a contract on it since I'll keep the iPhone. :D

any idea what numbers get assigned to this new line? when do we find out what they are?

Whatever number they assign to you, you can change it for free online. It's pretty neat since you select a city & state, then you get a dropdown so you can select from a list that shows the first 5 digits of the number, then they assign you the last 4.

so it will come in the box with a phone number already attached correct? also was it ok that I did an add a line from the VZ website and one from the Apple site. Apple would only let me do 1 add a line at a time. Thanks!

I can't vouch for you creating the accounts on both sites since we all don't know how this added unlimited plan is going to turn out but yes the new phone will come with a phone number already assigned.

I thought it was ok considering I am allowed up to 5 lines and I currently only have 2, I'm trying to get one for my wife and then one for myself but apple only lets me get one add a line at a time and stated I had to wait till the current order in progress is processed before i can add another line.

am i able to change the number on the new line without affecting my plan? i assume this is ok but i remember when i was trying to get my friends unlimited plan switched to my account with a number change they said the unlimited data would fall off. thanks guys.

I haven't seen or read anything that would lead me to believe that you'd lose your unlimited if you just change your number.

Is there a way to change the rate plan? I too was grandfathered in during the unlimited era and currently have unlimited. However I sped through the ordering process for the iPhone 6 so fast I didn't even check to see if it was an option. How do I change this?

Just called Verizon about this and this is no glitch. They said that as long as you have unlimited now you can most likely keep it. If you have unlimited now and they don't let you keep it after, they'll give you 6gb for $30.00/mo. Which is just as good IMO

Number one rule! Never call and alert them! They may tell us one thing but now reverse it now that they are aware of it.

why would you call them, thats exactly why people avoid sharing these loopholes.
