Is this really any different than walking into your favorite store and seeing an item on sale for at an incredible price? You can't believe it, but there it is...clearly marked and the right sku code, but so much cheaper than normal. We all have seen it and we usually jump on it thinking that even if we don't need it, we can later sell it and not lose. We just happen to be at the right place at the right time.

Most times the store honors the price even when it is a mistake. However, in those rare instances where they do not, you are informed prior to checking out. It is not like they let you buy it and then chase you down the parking lot wanting the item back.

I have already received communications acknowledging the plan I purchased and thanking me for choosing Verizon. That's awesome, because they were able to lure me away from a company where I spent thousands of dollars over the last several years. It would have never happened without this promotion.

That means it was 9 days total to get this process done
 Were there any fees associated with the process?

with 3 day waiting period for my line to cancel out automatically for the end of billing cycle.
Were you charged for those 3 days?

Verizon doesn't want your business if you are going to have a UDP and are not a large corporation or a government entity.

I paid Google $20 to port my number over from Verizon, and porting out of Google Voice was free since I ported in that number in the first place.

The line was "Suspended", so I want to say I did pay for those 3 days.

$40 line /30 days means it was like $1.33 every day. so I lost like $4 there

Just to be clear, you ported back into a new UDP line, correct? And the porting in did not affect the UDP on the new line?

So we're over 2,000 posts in this thread now! What a fun thread this has been! Ladies and Genltemen, I am back in the game.

Love you Verizon!
Time for sleep
You iz da man!!!!

Meanwhile, I will be up all night obsessively hitting refresh on istocknow to see if my apple store gets any new iphones in over night.

Correct, the unlimited line is completely intact. I never thought this would be an issue though. Another thing is on a new unlimited line, I ported my mother's phone number from Virgin Mobile and the billing cycle has come and gone, and she still has the unlimited.

Confident my brother's ported number should retain it as well. (Well...originally Verizon's, then Google's, and now back to Verizon :p)

Just ordered me a fifth line on my plan today.... Three phones with UDP and one flip phone. It let me pick unlimited.

TY! yeah, I just wanted to confirm b/c the Verizon reps are all over the place in what they say about what will happen.

Are you asking for prices?

this has been discussed here many times. We are right in the middle of the iPhone launch, do you think Apple is going to let them make changes to their ordering system right in the middle of the iPhone launch?

yea because its really easy to fix and I'm sure they already do regular maintenance on this system and I'm assuming there are multiple systems so while one is being updated users can use another available server eventually closing the loophole. Its not impossible to do and we are almost a month out.

Also I ported my number to GV and back around sept 20th or 21st and the port out took 24H and the port back took 24H, it was super fast since I guess not many people were doing it.

I ordered through the verizon site and was required to update to a different plan. I assumed the change would take affect with the next cycle. So next cycle comes and I still have unlimited. My contract has renewed because the new contact end date or whatever it's called is listed as 2016. Should it have changed already or is my data plan going to be changing in the future?

As far as porting in your number on top of an UDP line, it's entirely possible. The only thing you can't do is do it through apples site. Get the new number, and then request a new number via port from other carrier.

Some say that the online function of this is broke right now, and that you have to call.

It sounds like you slipped through. What data plan did you choose? Did you use the sim that came with the phone?

I used the same sim that I had before. Verizon shows my next upgrade date as 2 years from now and reflects the new phone. I had Nationwide Talk/Text Unlimited and selected Nationwide Talk/Text with 5gb for the new plan. So it should have changed on the next cycle date after the order completed?

It won't change at all :) you unknowingly did what many call the Best Buy method! The way that your plan actually changes is when the SIM card that comes with the new equipment is activated. Since you're never going to activate that SIM card, you will never lose your unlimited data!

Also, your plan would change immediately after activating with the included SIM card.

Congratulations!! Haha

You should be gtg, but if you attempt to switch devices or activate a new device on you line, you need to be careful b/c you may be stuck with a pending activation. Whatever you do, if you see a screen asking you if you want to activate your new phone, do not proceed. And if a rep asks you if you want to do that, do not proceed.

Hopefully the pending activation will fall off your line.

But he did the BB Method through Verizon so he has to be really careful until the pending activation falls off. Hopefully it may be gone by now.

Thanks for the assistance. I'd heard of and read about the Best Buy method but didn't think it would work on Verizon's. I've been using the same Sim card for a while now and knew that putting it in to my new phone would activate it the fastest, so assumed that's what I was supposed to do. Especially since, when I ordered this phone through Verizon I chose the option that I did not need a new sim card. The new one that came with the phone, I broke and threw away.

Larry06 over on SD did the BB Method thru Verizon and then promptly lost his UDP by checking for a pending activation and proceeding with activating the new device online.

It is definitely not impossible to fix, but Apple has a lot of leverage and if they say don't fix it now, Verizon won't.

I'm currently absolutely stuck with no service on my new iP6+. Been having this dang activation issue and neither Apple or Verizon have any idea what's going on.

The only good thing is that since neither of their systems show a pending activation line, I do have a brand spanking new iPhone I could just sell off for quite a bit of profit. But honestly I just want this thing to work with a new UDP.

which one of you guys is (are) depleting the indianapolis store of Verizon phones? The apple reps were like WTF the only 5s's that are sold out are Verizon's!
