But if you look at tracking from last year they actually left Zhengzhou directly to Incheon... rather odd that I can’t find any tracking for any UPS flights out of ZhengZhou this year??

We'll know which path they're going to take once one of you gets an update on your tracking for somewhere other than ZhengZhou. Until then, we won't know which flight is carrying these phones to Anchorage (and then Louisville afterwards).

@anshuvorty - Proximity has nothing to do with it - it's all got to do with UPS's logistics.

For those who are able to find tracking information on UPS despite the order still shows "preparing for shipment", what is the weight, according to UPS, for the package?

Yeah, not sure how they are getting there.

Looking at a few tracking numbers from last year, it looks like they don't really leave ZhengZhou until the afternoon usually... And being as it is almost 4am there, we may not see any new scans for around another 12 hours.

Again, this is just assuming it follows the same path/times as last year. And that makes since since there is still 4 days left.

thank you for the quick response. Mine also shows .4 kg which I was wondering if I got the correct tracking #. The phone weighs 6.14 ounce (or .17 kg) according to Apple's tech specs page.
Yea but don’t forget to take into account the box the phone comes in, packaging materials, charger, cables, also the cardboard box it comes in.

Yeah, I’m beginning to think we may not see movement for another 12-24 hours

No, they will not release the package until Friday. Apple has very specific contracts with the shipping companies to make sure nobody gets a phone before launch day.

Mines still in ZhengZhou. Does anyone remember when they start flying out?
Really? ****....I guess they forgot yours on the tarmac. Oh well...there's always tomorrow. ;)

Seriously though - anyone's guess. We're waiting for someone to get a scan from another airport so we can start tracking the flight. :)

How's that new job with Samsung working out?

I agree. I don’t think anyone who stayed up late to get the iPhone X would be dissuaded by a video or 2. Like the bigger screen in a smaller form factor, wireless charging, AMOLED screen which is supposed to be really awesome, and Face ID are nothing. Just my opinion.

Sigh, its not a contract, its a option that anyone who ships in bulk can do.....jeesh, i think most people just guess and types out what sounds good.... like apple has this mysterious shipping hold contract. It is a option.
