Skimmed through parts of this thread but didn't see my issue specifically. I'm on IUP and the App Store and website didn't come up for me until around 12:15, needless to say I got stuck with a 11/17-11/24 window.

I've seen others mention getting Apple to adjust their orders based on other specific errors. Any thoughts on whether crying to Apple will get me anywhere and what the best approach is?

i think you’ll get it next week even without doing anything...

Sitting here envious. I got my AT&T issues cleared up and had moved, again, to PFS but now it has slipped back, again, into OIP. This is maddening.

The fun part was finding out there was a block on the order with a note to contact my carrier. Did that and the response was "we don't know what that's about. We show a pending upgrade to your iPhone X". Got both Apple and them on the line together and, again, AT&T says "We don't what else to tell you besides cancel and re-order." Order review had cleared things up but now I feel like another phone call is in order...

Unless you received an email from Apple specifically acknowledging a failure in your ordering process, then nothing can be done. Even calling them will not get you anywhere at this point since their service reps have no control over delivery windows and cannot change your delivery dates (speaking from past experiences here). On the bright side you still have a good chance of getting it before 11/17 since Apple has been known to under promise in order to over deliver when shipping their products.

Np...this will be my first new phone that I have purchased. My previous phone is a used iPhone 5s.

Hey me too! I broke my 6 plus and have been waiting for this phone to come out. Stuck with the 5s until then. Friday can't get here quick enough.

Let’s go UPS!!! Let’s move them plans on boarding! ✈️

Thanks, I had a feeling that might be the case. Fingers crossed for an early delivery.

Mine is going to deliver on the 17th. I assume I wont be charged until later this week/early next week?

Apple has agreements with the shipping carriers that go beyond the standard. For example, if I have something shipped to my home via UPS, and it requires a signature, and I know I won't be home, I can go on the UPS website and waive my requirement for a signature. That way the driver can leave it at my door. But with an iPhone on launch day, Apple removes the option for me to do that, and requires a signature for my package regardless of what I want.

You can sigh all you want. Call it a contract, an agreement, an option, whatever you want, but the carriers definitely have something in effect with Apple that goes above and beyond their standard service.
That's not entirely true. I have a UPS My Choice account and all of my packages are automatically authorized for release. It auto applied to both of my phones.

Yes i will sigh when people make assumptions, dont know what they are talking about, and just throw things out there hoping the audience isn't smart. You obviously have no idea, and you cater to the people who dont fact check, or dont know something in general.
Custom delivery service is standard with all shippers, and they guarantee not shipping before the date you set....sigh again, if only people used there brains, instead of guessing and assuming.

I'm new to MacRumors and I've also never preordered a phone. It's kind of fascinating to see everyone obsessing about their phone's movements and location prior to the promised arrival date. Have there been issues in the past with phones not arriving as promised at scale?

Last year there was a mechanical failure on a UPS plane in korea that delayed some phones for like a day or two... I was part of that whole bunch. Thats’ why I feel way more comfortable once that phone leaves Anchorage ;)

I will be happy when they move from China
