iPhone X review: face the future - The Vergehttps://apple.news/A2g7mOle4QXmD2PUytlZEDQ

Woke up to this! Not as exciting as tracking movement but still enjoyable. Looks like the ball gag has been removed! I’m sure we will be seeing many more in depth reviews coming out today!

Actually Apple only allowed for initial reviews. Nothing truly in depth yet. Most didn’t get much time with the iPhones. Not sure why Apple chose to go this route with the iPhone X.

Here’s an update for those that are worrying* or interested in tracking.

Any London/UK/Europe folks on here, please keep an eye out for scans about 2-4 hours from now. There are two Cargolux 747’s departing CGO. One to London Stansted at 12:50am China time and another at 2:15am China time to Luxembourg. Then around 9am China time there’s FOUR 747 departures to AMS, LUX and Hahn. That’s a lot of LIFT capacity!

For those in the US, there’s a 2:00am ZZ/CGO 747 departure to Shanghai in addition to the numerous 737F departures to Shenzhen and Shanghai

(I’m not worried-just geeking out at the airplane logistics :p)

There is another possibility on a flight leaving CGO at 12:50 am. SF Airlines is a company that UPS has a working relationship with in China. The flight is going to Guangzhou which is in the HongKong area. They could easily be trucked to Hong Kong.

Just a thought although they don’t need to move till tomorrow.

Both AMEX and Visa charged a day or two ago but still on vacation in Xhengzou.

Unrelated question but if you break your iPhone on day one - like, smash it or something - and have Apple Care, what happens? Does Apple retain backup stock for warranty replacements in its stores from day one?

Not that I’m planning on smashing my screen on Friday, but would be interested to know if I would have to wait weeks if I did.
Yes, wife's day one 7 was defective (screen would not come on but phone was on) and we were able to replace it on day two at the store. They had a separate supply without retail packaging at the Genius Bar.

Based on last year, I think we 17-24 folks will start seeing progress (Preparing to Ship, cc charged, UPS tracking by reference #) between evening of Thursday 11/2 and Sunday 11/5 with delivery no later than the 10th.
[doublepost=1509448311][/doublepost]Hmmm...just read this article...all those folks with initial 1 to 2 week windows which got moved to 11/3...if Demand was that high, would that have happened? Either they had more iPhones ready (which the article seems to allude to) or the demand wasn’t as much as is being touted. Either way, Apple is still a master of marketing and creating supply and demand (whether it’s reality or delusion) feeding frenzy.

Apple is really conservative when it comes to delivery dates. They would much rather have someone get a later delivery date and then be pushed up rather than have to postpone a delivery that was originally scheduled for the launch day. Demand has been high (Apple acknowledged it) and I think they just wanted to make sure no one was disappointed.

So 2pm est
Potentially yes.

Great review on TechCrunch where the reviewer took the phone to Disneyland for real life use!

I was just looking up flights from several airports in China (HKG, PVG, SZX) to Anchorage-without looking IIRC, there’s 5-7 scheduled freighter flights out of Shanghai/PVG to Anchorage. Some UPS some Yangtze River some Polar Air Cargo. That’s opposed to nothing set from SZX-ANC or Guangzhou to ANC. This is like a huge avgeek challenge to me :)

Off topic but so you guys know, I’m noticing you don’t have to swipe up and hold it for multitask to come about. Some swipe just a tad up and go the the right and slide of the screen. So one continues motion without stopping. Figured I’d just share that.

The 3:19 mark. This is not the only person I’ve seen do this.

We (the EU people) can't track our orders via UPS and we most likely won't get a tracking ID for our iPhones until Nov 2 (if the delivery date is Nov 3).

Apple ships the iPhones for EU customers in batches to a warehouse in Europe (e.g. Eindhoven, NL or Prague, CZ) and from there, the boxes get a shipping label and a tracking ID.

When Apple's order status changes to shipped, we finally get some tracking info. Before that, we get no tracking info at all.

That's reassuring. Thanks for posting.

boo! :-( Well at least you know there’s a huge airlift coming to the EU from CGO ;-)
