You guys worry too much. Every year they stay in China for a bit and then start moving real fast within 2-3 days before launch.

So my card was finally charged this morning. I think we should see something within the next day or so!

My card was charged yesterday. Nov 3 delivery.

Don't worry folks, if your date says Nov 3, you'll get it Nov 3. Just be present at the address you decided to have it shipped to. I wouldn't trust leaving the package anywhere even with the authorization note.

Still stuck in china

Please do not call Apple to inquire about the 3 NOV shipments. They'll be here. I've ordered nearly every iPhone since the 2G and they have never missed the release date. Well, scratch that, I waiting in line for the 2G.

I can't believe it's been 10 years!

All is well. If you have it in the UPS system, very little need for worry. One year (should’ve screen captured), my phone left Thursday morning our time and was at my local hub Friday morning by 8:00 a.m. I was worried, but by Friday, all the tracking information was listed an indeed, it made it here from China in one day. That is truly...Logistics.

I really hope we see movement earlier. I don’t believe they are moving if the tracking date hasn’t updated. When I really geek out later, I follow the flight on Flight aware and it matches the tracking progression.

Hmmm...just read this article...all those folks with initial 1 to 2 week windows which got moved to 11/3...if Demand was that high, would that have happened? Either they had more iPhones ready (which the article seems to allude to) or the demand wasn’t as much as is being touted. Either way, Apple is still a master of marketing and creating supply and demand (whether it’s reality or delusion) feeding frenzy.

The people who were bumped up to the 3rd from 11/10-11/17 (including myself) were all either T-mobile customers or 64gig Verizon phone purchasers. This has led us to hypothesize that the 1-2 week shipping window was some kind of anti-fraud or anti-scalper move on Apple’s part since TMo phones don’t require carrier authorization. I don’t believe it has anything at all to do with supply vs. demand.

Based on last year, I think we 17-24 folks will start seeing progress (Preparing to Ship, cc charged, UPS tracking by reference #) between evening of Thursday 11/2 and Sunday 11/5 with delivery no later than the 10th.

I think it's more indicative of the number of phones that got reserved during the frantic pre-order period that were released due to the various errors and other issues. Just my guess though.

There wasn’t a preorder either for the 5 or was it the 5s?

My CC was charged in full (not hold) on 10/27. Reference track via fedex and ups with no luck. Expected delivery 11/3. Will wait for the official Apple email, hoping to come soon.

Finally jumping into post after enjoying following along with everyone last few days.

I ordered on the app and got a reservation and panicked and ordered again and went through. That said 17-24 but day later I got reservation email which said I could get Nov 3 so I ordered there and cancelled the first order - I feel very lucky.

As nerdy and silly as this thread is I personally think it’s part of the fun and I enjoyed it as much this year as I did 3 years ago when I was waiting for the 6 Plus.

I think those of us that have waited to upgrade since the 6 Plus are going to be very happy with the 10 and I can’t wait to unbox like a lot of you will be this Friday and over the weekend.

Happy Halloween!

I think we’re just experiencing delayed ups tracking scans. They probably have 3 million iPhones on different plains shipping at the same time. Some for the carriers and some for Apple. We usually see the scans when they arrive on US soil. So I’m hoping in the morning we will have Alaska scans. Then we know delivery will arrive on time. I just never seen the tentative message for a UPS delivery before. Still says it’s delivering for 11/3 so hope is still there.

Both AMEX and Visa charged a day or two ago but still on vacation in Xhengzou.

Unrelated question but if you break your iPhone on day one - like, smash it or something - and have Apple Care, what happens? Does Apple retain backup stock for warranty replacements in its stores from day one?

Not that I’m planning on smashing my screen on Friday, but would be interested to know if I would have to wait weeks if I did.

I highly doubt there’s any sort of delay. Aside from exceptions, that’s not the ups way. Remember. They don’t scan them individually. There’s bulk scan for all the phones in the batch.
Relax...... :p
