I ordered my phone on the 27th and it still says preparing for shipment. I have called Apple multiple times and they said it will be delivered on Friday. How can it be delivered on Friday if it hasn't even been shipped yet?

This has been covered already, track on UPS by reference using phone number country and zip code.

For me iPhone 5 and iPhone 8 had import scans in Alaska. But people are saying that happened in KY now, so not sure.

You must be new to this.. you will get an updated status when it hits US soil. Some people don’t see a status change until the phone is out for delivery.
You will have your phone on Friday. I’ve done all except 1 preorder and my phone always deliver the day it’s suppose to.

No I'm not new to this, I'm a bit worried because I have ordered iPhones from Apple before and I did get a shipped status and tracking number days before. It said it shipped from zhengzhou china or something like that. This year I got no tracking number or status updates.

I know how bulk shipments work because I used to work for a company that shipped hundreds of packages a day, and when UPS and Fedex picked them up they would count the total packages and sign a bill of lading before leaving. They would not scan the packages. I understand if something similar to what I just said is going on, I just thought by now I would have gotten an update.

I got my tracking # thru UPS reference and have been checking for updates. I made a mistake and had the X sent to my work address. I called UPS customer service to just hold it at their hub.

For those who have done that before, how can you tell when you track it if its going to be held? I don't see anywhere on the tracking page where it's going to be held.

Have you tried tracking via Reference number (your order number without the last 2 digits)?

Think difference here is the ones on flight to Louisville yesterday was not a regular UPS flight, it was chartered for them. So probably unloaded into a storage area until unpacked and scanned.
