Because they are not selling sim free yet. For sim free you don’t need any account details. Thanks to scalpers who buy and sell them at high profits and the real user is unable to get the device on time.

You know i might as well buy one off ebay if apple wants to make it that hard.

For all i know the sim free ones will start being sold/sell out while im at work. And im getting tired of my smaller iphone needing to be charged so often.

Youre exaggerating a bit theyre at $2000 or less right now. Ebay is my last choice since i think that voids warranty.

Called up apple and verizon, neither really wants to help. Best bet is to go into a verizon store on the 28th i guess.

Can I make a suggestion to you. During the pre-order week, go to a Verizon store and activate a new account and line for yourself via a month to month plan for the cheapest option which I believe is a 3 GB plan for $40 a month. You will also have to pay a one time activation fee of $30. Add another $10for taxes. Now you will have your own account, with your own passcode so you can pre-order your new phone through Verizon or Apple like the rest of us at midnight on the 27th. Assuming you get your phone on the 3rd of November, once activated, you can just switch SIM cards to your current number, and then go back to the Verizon store and cancel your service on the new line. You will even get a refund on the $30 activation fee if canceled and the SIM card returned within 14 days. So worst case you incurred $80 max for your troubles as apposed to an extra couple of hundred by purchasing the phone on eBay.

Don’t forget it will be a hard credit check and also IUP as well.

Maybe i'll try it if i cant find a better solution. im trying to stay away from opening an account. I have had bad experiences.

Sprint nicked me with fees when i canceled after 2 days, when my entire block was a deadzone.

Tmobile took a couple of months to cancel.

Recently with verizon, it was hassle to close my personal account. (Still with verizon but im renting an grandfathered plan, cheaper and no slow speeds)

Honestly if they could just anounce that date of the sim-free version, id just wait. my only hurry is my current phones dies too much and im not a fan of the home button.

-------

Is there really a month to month post paid plan?

Also as far as im aware citizens isnt doing a hard pull again since they've alrady did last year and i have made all 12 payments

If you preorder using IUP then you Can opt for in store pickup on launch day(if they have stock) and with Apple rep you will go through the IUP process.

Ah! So that would mean no extra time during the pre-order to get the credit check or anything, all that would be done in store? Perfect! Might have to go that route.

Although midtown manhattan, while I have a choice of apple stores, there's gonna be a lot of people gunning for that in-store stock...

what is the chances that the iPhone X is gonna be able for picking up in the apple store in the 11.3?

Just talked to a lot of different help lines in order to answer this question and none were totally helpful so I wanted to see if anyone here could help!

I'm using cricket right now and I am planning to buy an iPhone x on pre order day. I think I ought to buy the T-Mobile version as it would be unlocked and I could just switch out the sim. Any thoughts on this?

Also as extra info I talked to cricket and they said they would begin to sell iPhone x 11.3 and it would ship one business day later. Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks for any help anyone can give!!!

Really? No one knows the question. People need to quit asking and wait two weeks..the you will know
There will be some, but it is looking like the quantities will be limited. I am sure Apple will have some at the stores for the line parties that go on with every release.

So let me ask this,

If you want to sign up for the upgrade program for the X, you would not be able to do so until pre ordering starts? Or did they let you do it ahead of time on the 8? I just don’t want to waste time signing up for IUP and pushing back my order time for my X. Thanks for your help!

They let those of us who are exsisting IUP customers to get pre-approved. If you are signing up for the first time this year you will have to go through the approval process once preorder starts
