It’s at the final hub before being loaded for delivery and delivered! I hope Follow My Delivery works!

How do you get this feature? I have UPS my choice but I’ve never seen (or noticed) this...

My package arrived in Sylmar and was sent to the Van Nuys hub at 7:50 p.m. yesterday.

It’s funny... some get destination scans at 4 a.m. and others not until 6 or 7. I wonder why that is. 🤔

EDIT: just got my destination destination scan at 4:20 a.m.!

Good luck to everyone with scheduled deliveries today!

Mine is on the delivery vehicle.... let it have a good screen, please!

So what’s the deal with the yellowish screens?

Absolutely @xmagicx !

Though it’s not over just yet this was a very informative experience. I’ve learned A LOT about the preorder and travel process (if my husband only knew the extent he’d not understand) Thanks to everyone here!

I know this is just a phone but it’s also the one thing we carry with us daily that allows us a window into the world! and Apple makes some of the finest products out there.

May everyone enjoy their phones when you get them!

I noticed that the screen on my iPhone 12 has a decidedly more yellow tint when True Tone is turned on. I always turn it off. Was the same on my X and 11.

@Bea220 Once set up probably these two things to watch out for:

Yellow Screens: there is anecdotal evidence that iPhone screens have overall a warmer temperature generation to generation (which is fine to remove too much blue that can cause eye strain). Then there are some screens that seem defective or out of spec that show an overly yellowish hue even with True Tone and NightShift turned off. You will find a long thread on the forum. Some of this is probably overblown, still worth checking and see if it bothers you IF you get a screen that seems too yellowish. I never had an issue to date.

Connectivity Issues/Dropped Calles: There seem to be quite a few cases where across providers the 12/12Pro frequently drop calls, loose service. This seems to be in low signal areas where the hand-off between towers seems to fail and the phone goes from 5G/LTE to nada and only comes back with a reboot or toggle on/off airplane mode. There was a similar issue with the XS launch. Took several weeks until Apple/Carriers had issued iOS/firmware updates that fixed the issue. These are probably 5G teething issues. However, as long as you are in the return window, you should monitor the phone. Any return/exchange later is more hassle.

@Frankfurt wow, thank you for the insight. I just checked my settings in my X and apparently I have True Tone turned off so I never noticed true tone in the last three years. I’ll be sure to compare my iPhone side-by-side.

I just realized that I haven’t really prepared to part with my X (Other than I know that I’m giving it to my father) But I seriously need to back up all my photos and videos on this phone onto an external hard drive or USB.

Whenever I get a new iPhone I just started up from scratch. I don’t do the transfer thing everybody else does.

I have a Verizon carrier phone so hopefully that means I won’t have any of the Sim card issues that I’ve been skimming over the last few days.

Sim cards are so foreign to me since I never really had to deal with them - is this an unlocked phone thing?

Finally out for delivery in Easton, PA! Hopefully the Follow My Delivery feature pops up soon so I can stalk my driver all day!

How does one get this features? I’ve never seen it in my UPS app before.

Ordered a PB 256 GB Pro on 10/20 On the Apple business site. Still processing. 🤨

Yeah I would go online today and see if there’s in-store pick up available for the phone you want and cancel this order. Since it obviously hasn’t moved in eight or now nine days…

well this is why I use iCloud photos. never have to stress over manual back ups to a hard drive. and all Verizon iPhones come unlocked and pre-loaded with a Verizon nano SIM.

I suppose I should finally give in and up my iCloud storage… 🤣😂

Since it was shipped world wide express SAVER, I don’t think I’ll be able to follow the driver on a map.

and yet another reason why it was dumb that we wasted $8 dollars!

Thanks!

I’m on track for delivery today and it’s scheduled for between 1 and 5.

I agree with the benefits of iCloud storage. My husband doesn’t like the idea of anything that’s a “subscription”, but I think it’s worth it.

I am doing this as we speak (backing up photos and the like). I use iCloud to store photos and all that but I don’t take any chances.

Some people will say its not necessary to start from scratch on a new phone, and indeed it is a pain, but having worked in with tech a lot for my line of work, I can say that sometimes starting fresh is one of the best things you can do. Bugs from earlier software updates on your old device can sometimes stick in and pop up or cause slowness in new devices.

Besides, starting fresh is a good excuse of purging your unused apps from your new phone... lol.

Finally made it - late at night - thanks UPS for working extra hard during these times.

Return box also came together with the Pacific Blue iPhone 12 Pro:

Just curious, did your Zagg case come with the correct tool to align the screen protector? I got mine in the mail but haven’t yet received my phone. The packaging for the Zagg just says “new iPhone 6.1 2020” and has an image of the 11 series body. Been afraid to open it in case I need to return it.
It appears that currently any case you get outside of a few brands will say that. I think it’s probably because they received specs a long time ago but not the actual name of the iPhone. I bought a Tech21 case and said the same thing, fits perfectly though. As for your initial question about the Zagg Glass, there is a Zagg kiosk inside the 2 malls that are minutes from me so I usually buy them there and they install. But yes the guy at the kiosk told me they all should come with a “frame” for installation.

@Bea220
I always restore from back-up and - to date - never had an issue. I do not use iCloud for photo storage or iCloud drive for documents - it‘s a privacy thing for me. Eventually, I will run out of space though...

I always buy SIM free from Apple as dealing with the carrier for exchanges or other means tends to be more hassle. I always swap the (Verizon) SIM from the previous phone (and save on activation cost). This time I make an exception and ordered separately a 5G SIM from Verizon to activate on to make sure no issues from old SIM with new network.

We’ll see how things go when the phone arrives.... always a lottery ... thankfully, I only do this every 2-3 years... would annoy me too much every year.
