I know for me, I live in an area that has 5G and I’ve tried 5G On, 5G Auto and just LTE and the battery is a letdown all around. I maybe lose 5-7% more when toggling the 5G on, otherwise I am ending my day with 10-15% less battery life than my previous phone (11 Pro Max)
Interesting. I mean I would expect some difference due to the battery size from the 11 Pro Max to the 12 Pro, but on a level battery size (say the X or XS to the 12 Pro) I am just trying to gauge if it will be comparable still.

I still think there will be some software updates optimizing better for the battery life based on people's response, but I suppose we will see in due time.

And for reference, with all my conference calls and other usage, my iPhone X with 84% battery health pulls off only about 4 1/2 to 5 hours before hitting 10-15% battery remaining. I can't get through a full workday anymore on it.

It appears that currently any case you get outside of a few brands will say that. I think it’s probably because they received specs a long time ago but not the actual name of the iPhone. I bought a Tech21 case and said the same thing, fits perfectly though. As for your initial question about the Zagg Glass, there is a Zagg kiosk inside the 2 malls that are minutes from me so I usually buy them there and they install. But yes the guy at the kiosk told me they all should come with a “frame” for installation.
Thanks for the feedback on that! I actually finally installed my Zagg glass at my desk (made sure AC and everything else was off), and it is a perfect fit. Like you indicated, they did provide an alignment tool that worked perfectly.

Considering I have 4 cats... the fact that I didn't get a single dust particle under the glass is a pure miracle.

iPhone 12 Pro was just delivered, signature was not required, rang my door bell and left it on the porch. Setting up now!

I've been watching this thread and now you guys have got me excited for my new phone. I dod have a question. I ordered my 12pro fairly early in the morning of the first day. I was given a delivery window of Nov 6-13. Anyway today my status changed from processing to preparing to ship. I'm wondering how long might be before it actually does?
It will ship tomorrow and you should have it by Thursday or Friday next week. At least that's what happened to me last week. Shipped Friday and recieved the following Thursday.

Got my phone around 11:30-coincidentally right when we were taking a lunch break from painting so I didn’t get side-eye from the husband. Did the 11-12 pro transfer and it activated and transferred everything in about 10 minutes. Easiest new phone transition ever! Haven’t had a chance to play with the 5g yet, but it is super fast on my home WiFi.

in the “Not fair at all” department my son’s phone was in the Nov 6-13 group, label created 03:16 10/28 in ZZ and it landed in Anchorage at 14:32 today. Delivery showing for him in SW Oklahoma tomorrow!

Additionally our 2 11/9-16 phones switched to “preparing to ship”.

I got mine about 1:00 today and got it set up pretty quickly. I already had a Totallee clear case for it and an ESR screen protector. Love the screen cover but not that thrilled about the case. its very stiff at the side button so you really can’t operate that button. I’m also used to something with more grip so the hunt for a case continues. I think I’m going to have to give up on the idea of a clear case.

Delivered!!! But dang, I was using the beta version of iOS14.2 so wasn’t able to restore, had to start over :( at least i got to clean up the apps i never use lol.
you can also edit the backup file and change the software version that's written in the file

Hey folks, looking for a little advice. My launch day iPhone 12 Pro went out for delivery last Friday but was never delivered. UPS seems to have no idea where it is, so Apple put in an order for a replacement.

Instead of putting me at the front of the line for an immediate replacement (which would make sense, right?), I was stuck at the end of the queue with an estimated delivery of 11/18-11/25.

Because I signed up for the Upgrade Program (regrettably), I'm still stuck paying for a device that hasn't shown up, and it's not trivial to cancel and reorder, because there was a hard credit pull associated with sign up.

To add insult to injury, the Apple Store rep offered a coupon to placate me.......drumroll......$15 off an order of $100.

I'm sure it's been discussed before - Apple's customer support has really gone downhill, right?

Anyway, what are my options? I asked for a customer service escalation, but they said the callback would take up to a week.....Any better ways to get their attention?
This year was terrible for us on the iPhone upgrade program. I made a big, long, bitchy post about it last week. Hoping this was just some kind of pandemic related glitch, and not an indication of Apple’s decline in customer service.

That said, now that I have my shiny, pretty phone in my hands I am a bit more forgiving 😂

Really? Any simple instructions on this or is it complicated?
Windows:

1. Open iTunes.

2. Locate the iTunes folder that contains your backups, from the location shown here.

This_PC>Local_Disk_(C:)>Users>YOUR_USER_NAME_HERE>Appdata > Roaming > Apple_Computer > MobileSync > Backup
or
This_PC>Local_Disk_(C:)>Users>YOUR_USER_NAME_HERE>Apple>MobileSync>Backup
+To view this folder you must enable Hidden Folders
+You can enable Hidden Folders by ticking the box in File Explorer
+*If you are unsure as to which backup you are looking for, you can just compare the time stamp of the file folder with the time stamp of your backup (in iTunes).

3. Inside folder, you need to locate the backup you want to restore.

4. Inside the backup’s folder you must locate the info.plist file.

5. Open Info.plist file with your preferred.plist editor
+Some Plist editors may cause corruption, Plist Pad may very well be one such editor. To be safe avoid Plist Pad
+I have used a simple text editor to edit .plist but I recommend using a proper Plist editor. Some text editors can cause corruption

6.
Inside the Info.plist file, locate the product version string.

7. Once you locate the Product Version string you need to change it to the iOS version that you plan to perform the restore on; or below.

8. Return to iTunes and restore backup as you normally would.

I know right? The excitement continues after November 13 as that’s when everyone gets their Max/Mini’s

I’m so excited. I have not been so excited since the 6 Plus was introduced and I became an iPhone owner for the first time! That was a crazy time - I ended up driving 200 miles to a Best Buy in Michigan to get my Space Grey 6 Plus. That was a wild year for the iPhone... good times.

Hopefully, things will be less dramatic, but exciting all the same!

Love my new 12 Pro in Pacific Blue! Setup was great - used the device to device method. Was concerned about whether 5G would activate on AT&T, but no problems at all with that. What was a bit a glitchy was getting my 2 watches set up on the new phone (first world problem, I know . . .). They supposedly transfer along with other data, but when it came to activating them on the new phone, it didn’t work. Ended up unpairing from old phone and restoring from backup - should probably have done that initially. It’s a great phone. I’ll wait for a few days before coming to any conclusions about battery — lots of indexing to be done with a new phone with more than 400 apps, as I have! I’m happy.
