Yes, the 12 Pro pre-order was a mess for me too.
So glad the local Apple Store had them in stock at launch weekend - I ended up picking up the same identical phone there in 5 minutes in/out.
Never will pre-order since Apple does not value your business (pre-paying a week in advance)....

So who else here is wondering how the Pro Maxes are still available for 11/13 delivery? Did Apple overestimate how many would sell, or think they just turned up the production a notch and just had a glut of them leading up to the presale?
I force quit and reopened the Apple Store app repeatedly and it took until :07 for me to get into it.
I wouldn’t be surprised. Apple gave itself 3 weeks lead time, and many ups planes have been coming in from Anchorage.
Mine is standard on all (phone, cases, home pod mini). All in separate orders. Good question.
Has anyone else run into the problem with their Apple card and a gift certificate ? I ordered my mini this morning, and used an Apple gift card for part of the purchase. It wouldn't let me pay for the balance with my Apple Card. Really ?? You want to discourage people from using your card to buy your product ?? Very weird. I used my Amazon Prime card to pay for it, so it didn't keep me from getting my phone order in, but I thought Apple's policy was bizarre.
Well the 128GB graphite is not. Nov 24th. But It was still a launch date phone about an hour after orders started which I don't ever remember that happening with other releases.

It just hit me, I’m scheduled off on the 13th, and was hoping for an in-store pickup. IUP doesn’t give that option. NOW, I’ll be sitting around all day stalking my UPS Choice app every 5-minutes. I’ll just have to make sure that UPS doesn’t try to deliver to the wrong address again like they did last year. Seriously bummed here. Maybe if the weather is nice I’ll set myself up on the porch as soon as I see the “almost there” on Follow My Deliveries. Or maybe setup at the beginning of my driveway.
In my experience, they don't. It's always been "cancel and re-order"... especially at launch time...
Just hope the quality of these phones are good. I read here on MacRumors not too long ago that Apple was auditing more the production because the Chinese were trying to cut corners to cut cost. Let’s see

Some people want to obsess and potentially “freak out” if their phone isn’t on what they consider the correct flight, in order to reach them on launch day. I like phone order time but, tracking flights is not something I want to spend my time doing.
If you did not specify a carrier and paid full price then you can just put an AT&T SIM in it. If you specified a carrier and selected monthly payments you will not be able to use it on AT&T as it will be locked to Verizon until paid off & subsequently unlocked.
What does it truly matter, so long as you get the phone you want in a timely manner?
I would think starting tomorrow? I have UPS My Choice App so it will just pop up once the label is created.
You can start checking tracking number by using track by reference later and it will show up (likely on Saturday tho).
I had an issue with my Amex, 4 gift cards, and an Apple ID balance application. Kept getting "interrupted" in the app, so I went on the Mac, changed up my payment method to just do Apple Card via Apple Pay for the whole amount, and it went through without issue. I was a bit disappointed, even though I'll just keep my GCs till the spring when the new iPad Pro drops.
