That usually depends on how soon before delivery you reschedule the change. If it is done 1 or sometimes 2 days before the scheduled delivery you are correct in some situations or if the AP is many miles from your original delivery location like if you live in NJ and you want it sent to a store in Ohio.
If the AP is within your standard delivery out of the same DC and/or if you schedule far enough in advance (2 days is reasonable) there is rarely ever problem. If it has to go to another DC to be delivered to you in your area that could easily add a day or even more.
