UPS rarely ever comes back for a second attempt. At that point, it'll return to the distribution center. In some cases, you could pick up the package after hours, once the truck comes back. Then again, I've only known 1 center that honors that.

Anyone know if our phones will be delivered by a UPS crew separate from the daily UPS ground delivery crew? My UPS guy usually comes around 4:30pm but he only delivers ground shipments so I am considering going to the UPS hub to pick it up first thing Friday morning.

I don't know if the reference number input through UPS is actually intended for us to track it.
Apple needs a way to keep track of each pre-labeled phone out of China and this is how they do it.
We just happen to know that reference number is our billing phone number and can "peek" at what's going on in the UPS shipping before Apple officially gives us our tracking numbers.
I think most all of us are. Have you tried tracking by reference on the UPS site? Use your phone number. And if that doesn't work, make sure that Apple has your correct phone number on file. If not, search with the incorrect phone number, and it should show up. FTR, I ordered at almost exactly the same time and via the same method as you, and mine has been PFS for days, but I've been able to track it via the above method for a few days now.
Did you get confirmation for your CC request? I requested mine be held for pickup on Friday at a local CC. Just curious if I should periodically check my tracking or wait for an e-mail.
I signed up for UPS. Do they give an estimate of when the iPhone will come? like a window
Yeah I know I've done it like this for years, what I'm saying is that there's usually not this much tracking scans like there are now.
Not for this. Looks like every one is getting the standard "End of Day" window. I believe if you are a premium MyChoice member, then you can get a 2-hour window, but I'm not a premium member, and don't know what packages that applies to.
my phone has been charged to my account but it has not shipped yet. it does say it will arrive on the 25th but im wondering how many of you guys that have deliveries on the 25th have had their iphones shipped yet?
Mine have always been delivered by my normal UPS guy. In the past, I'd have them by 10:30 at the latest, but last year, it didn't show up until like 4:30 or something. Hoping that's not the case this time around!
Because there are two weeks between preorder and launch day this year. A love/hate situation for many.
Mine was part of the batch that FINALLY moved on from ZhengZhou, China (09/23/2015 5:00 P.M. Departure Scan) Has anybody actually gone to pick something up from a UPS CC before? I have only done it once (many years ago) but it was on par with going to the DMV. I couldn't imagine going there Friday morning with god knows how many other people eager to get their hands on their new iPhone... be prepared for a long wait! I always have stuff delivered to my office, so I never have to wait around for a package, plus it usually arrives around 10-11 AM anyway. Well good luck to those heading out to a UPS CC this Friday!!
I go around noon and usually 2-3 people max waiting. And this is in a busy area.
I was told by UPS that you'll get the request when it gets scanned for availability. Also make sure to monitor the tracking to see the progress... but my CC request was verified for it's location, but it won't be approved until it's officially available.
Mine says still preparing. I realized late last night my iPhone was already in the United States. I ordered 15 minutes into the ordering process from the Apple app.
