After my package was mis sorted and sent to New Hampshire (I live in Ohio), it's on its way now. Last year, when they tried to deliver and I wasn't home for the signature (even though I directed them to the apartment office), they came on Saturday so I'm hoping they attempt delivery today.

The fiasco continues this morning. No updates to tracking so no confidence in a saturday delivery. cant go pick it up because I haven't received any confirmation from Apple about the request they said they'd be putting through..and as far as i know that place is closed on Sat. So now both UPS and Apple have let me down, and neither seem to care about failure to meet launch day promise, and oh so casually reschedule it for Monday. Monday! I waited all day yesterday.

Got an email from Apple telling me they are experiencing delivery delays. Look's like I won't see the phone till Monday. Major UPS fail. All my other phones came FedEx on launch day no issues. The first time UPS delivers for me they miss the mark. Apple needs to stop dealing with UPS. I waited yesterday for the phone. And UPS is just like we are just gonna deliver Monday no big deal. No you morons Apple contracted and is paying you to have the phones delivered on the 25th not the 28th.

I can't believe these two weeks passed by so quickly! I was able to get my phone yesterday from my local UPS CC. Of course I was there earlier than I anticipated and I had to stand under a tree when it started to lightly rain for almost an hour. I was by myself for most of the time. I didn't see anyone else until 5 minutes to 9 when three cars pulled up to the locked gate. Once the gate opened, we all went in. While the cars parked, I walked quickly to the front door. I figured I was there the longest, I should be first. I was. It took a couple minutes longer because my data conection was slow so it took longer to get my tracking number. I was at a place with free WiFi afterwards. Stupid me did not go to AT&T's page to activate the phone first before trying to set it up. Once I did go through everything, I got a message that said it couldn't activate the phone since I wasn't eligible. I did a soft reset and then it worked. I am LOVING the phone! I will echo everyone else who said how fast Touch ID was. I just wish that setting that up was quicker. I still am getting the times where the lines would show up on the fingerprint on the screen, then go away. It finally went through. It's gonna take some time to get used to the 3D Touch, especially since I don't know which apps support it now and when others will.

Finally, thanks to everyone who helped everyone else who had questions and problems. You made this launch a LOT easier for all of us! See you all next year (or maybe even next month if I do get an Apple TV!)

Wow I don't remember UPS being this messy previous launches.
I feel really bad. UPS was excessively active yesterday starting midnight to midnight, with 3 times as many trucks on the road than normal. Those poor people. They ran through some serious overtime and increased workload trying to get these packages shipped. They usually rap the day up at 7pm or 8pm.

Maybe it is the area you are in since UPS hasn't missed a launch day delivery in 5 years in my circle. Hopefully it gets worked out for you.

what part of the country are you in?

I picked up mine from a CC as well... from tracking the scan came in around 6:30am. They opened up at 8am, but I had showed up little after 8.. Ran into a little traffic. But I was pretty much the first one there to get it. The person fetching it took awhile to get it.. but it was a smooth process.

But the crazy thing.. I tried to use my previous SIM card from my other iPhone instead of the one that came with it. Gave me a message that the SIM was locked.. which was odd to me. So, I decided to contact AT&T about it.. and when I put the SIM card that came with it in... the steps were pretty much laid out on the iPhone itself allowing me to activate it. Didn't need to contact AT&T to begin with.

Kudos to AT&T... I was up and using it pretty quickly

People fail to realize that Apple is sending out more phones than UPS can handle at once. They're only humans with a limited amount of time at their disposal to deliver. They try to get out as many as they can but they can't get all of them in one day. And I speak as fellow delivery driver, no not UPS, from experience in saying when more delivery requests come in than all available staffed drivers can handle, delays will crop up.

UPS is now saying it is "Lost". Just wonderful!

I have always activated the new phones and then switch the sim cards and restore from backup if i am changing lines.

Me too. The UPS guy at the local hub was already frazzled at 9:30 yesterday morning with iPhone pickups and I'm sure people not being so nice . UPS had to move probably about 1MM phone and imagine the logistical issues? This is on top of their normal volume. Crazy. Reminds me when flights get delayed and folks don't understand why they just don't get another plane and crew--logistics.

Hope everything who didn't get phone yesterday gets it today.

I'm not getting mine till Wednesday. Dissapointing but understandable.

So my phone has gone from my local hub in MD, to Philly...then flew back to Louisville, Kentucky, then back to MD again.....all overnight. Wow.
