Apple.com pre-orders: Who's stuck in "Preparing for Shipment"

Still no joy on the UPS or Fedex trick for me. I ordered around 4:30 EST through Apple's reserve system and finished around 7 A.M. My status on Apple still says Preparing for shipment. Delivery date still says the 14th though. Bank still has the transaction as pending.

Really starting to rethink staying up all night to order.
 
From what I've observed, it is only or mainly AT&T customers that are the ones dealing with the majority of canceled orders. Hopefully, in this stage of the game, nobody gets their order canceled. Hopefully everybody who cannot access shipping notification will receive it soon.
 
Mine literally JUST showed up, I have been checking frantically all day and night because I was scared one of them would get cancelled since I double booked with att and apple since I thought my att was on backorder. Now I feel like I am ready to go and there is noway they can take it back, right?
 
does anyone know if signature is required for these, and if you can pre-sign with UPS. i won't be here when they arrive =\

Yes you need to. Go to the pre-order page or check your email for the pre-sign form. Fill it out and leave it at your door!

nothing there yet, i'm assuming it's because it's still labled as "preparing for shipment"

i didn't know UPS did pre-signing, thanks!
 
Finally posted with ups trick. Sitting in Shenzen. Wish it was a little further along. Was Abel to get mine a day early last year. Oh well least I know it's on it's way.
 
Once Apple updates your order status, there will be an option for pre-signing. However, from what I understand (and I could be wrong) it is still under the UPS driver's digression whether or not to leave the package.

I've heard instances where the driver did not leave the package even if there was a pre-signed notice for the driver. Just saying.
 
Finally my phone number worked and I have a tracking number. My phone is sitting in Shenzen. I ordered 9:30am last Friday. Got 32GB Black ATT. Shows on Apple.com as preparing shipment. No confirmation email.

As I have posted before. I ordered a 32 gig white for ATT that has been in prepared for shipping since sunday afternoon. Right now at 1204 am pacific time apple.com says preparing for shipping and I did the ups Thingy with my phone number and I got tracking information that in departed china today and is scheduled for Friday end of day delivery.

Glad it's on it's way.
 
Prepared for Shipment since the first batch of people got theirs, but mine hasn't gone out yet according to UPS reference. Tried both phone number in the 1112223333 format, and the order number Wxxxx without the last two digits.

Maybe mine was premature, because while I reserved at 3AM PST, I didn't order until I woke up later that day.
 
Just found mine via UPS using my phone #, Its in Shenzhen, China

Ordered 10AM (after I couldn't at 3AM because site was down)... Black 64gb on Verizon through apple.com.

Apple.com still says preparing but at least I can track it, still on date for 10/14, woo!
 
Yeah, it is shipping on my end too. I guess it was on the very last batch of planes to depart from China.
 
Got my shipping notification even though I reserved my phone right when apple came up. Says it just departed shenzen china and will be here Friday end of day.

Also ordered one through AT&T, and it havent received any shipping notices. Had that one ordered right when AT&T came up also.

Both are 16GB white AT&T iPhones.
 
Last night, just after I posted, an email came in with my tracking number. Around 10pm. I live in philly, tracking says my package is in Alaska. Sounds on par to me.

Apple hasn't taken their money still which is taking longer than usual. And I didn't get tracking until the phone was already in the (technical) states. Seems like things are just running like a day behind as far as updates go. And I understand that, with there being a million orders to handle.
 
I was but overnight Apple put me in the Hands of UPS and my package went from Hong Kong to Alaska now, however not sure how it will get from there to my house in NJ by Friday but I have faith in Apple, not so much with UPS.

ordered 8pm friday. black 32g from apple.com. no status change on apple order page, but was able to track with phone #. Its on its way to the HK airport!

2 of my iPhones still says preparing for shipment but checked this morning via ups ref. tracker and the packages left china 4:50pm their time. However my other white iPhone still says processing item even though I ordered that 1 first.. I hope they all arrive on time Friday
