Apple.com pre-orders: Who's stuck in "Preparing for Shipment"

Finally got the email saying mine is shipped. Ordered 3 hours after pre orders went live. Could never find anything using the UPS trick, but everything looks good now!
 
Order changed to shipped late last night. Phone seems to be in Hong Kong, with expected delivery on Oct 14 as planned. Good luck to everyone.

same here. It finally updated for me and is in China now. I hate ups as they will probably get here around 5pm that day

Yep, me too. I hate UPS. Will have to wait the entire day although I'm be home to make sure if they drop it off early that I'm there. They are also notorious for just dropping stuff off and not getting a signature.
 
Don't give up on the UPS tracking trick (input your mobile phone number into the "reference" field and track via "reference".. don't put zip code or country ~ just phone number).

I finally got a tracking number just now and I ordered in the wee hours of the morning on the 7th, around 5:30 a.m. EST

that my problem. Freaking UPS ninjas are notorious for knocking and disappearing. I guess Friday is tied down :(
 
Weird. So I ordered from AT&T first, then cancelled it later that day. Got the cancellation email, my upgrade back and ordered from Apple.

My order from Apple still says preparing for shipment but the UPS trick works.


This morning I got an email from AT&T saying "Thank you for your recently placed order...it will deliver Oct 14

I guess that would make sense. I hoped to get my official shipment email from apple today so I can pre-sign. UPS comes to my house at like 6-7 PM :(


Edit - right after I posted this, I got my shipment email... Looks like you can't pre-sign with UPS :(

Tracking on the UPS reference site was done by using my phone number, the order number did not work for me. I only input my phone number and not even the country or zip code.

My 32 GIG white ATT is on its way.

Thanks, this worked for me. I had been putting in country and ZIP and getting nothing. Just my phone # got me my info!

It's 1:48am in Hong Kong right now and my 16gb white at&t iPhone was scanned for departure at 12:49am just about an hour ago. I'm from San Diego so I wonder where my iPhone will be dropped off tonight :confused: Oh well, as long as get it by Friday :)

Wonder why tons of others have got there's updated today but mine is not.

Got me a little worried since I am selling my iphone and I have to ship it to the seller on Friday.

Shipped out 10/12 @ 11:50AM EST

Due on Friday End of Day

NO FREAKIN' WAY!!! I used that trick and then BAM! my UPS Tracking info popped out. Thank you for the tip. I was so worried. I used 2 debit cards to pay. I paid the $199 using my first card (checked my bank online and it was charged), and then the tax of $13.93 using the my 2nd debit card was sent back to my account. IDK why, it's just weird I thought Apple cancelled my order.

My order status is still stuck in "Preparing for Shipment" as of this moment.

But anyways, I'm happy knowing that my shiny brand spankin' new iPhone 4S is on its way to me. WOOT WOOT!!!:D

I hope to get it before I leave for St. Louis in the late afternoon of the 14th.

Woo hoo! Just found my UPS trackng number. THANKS to the posts that said to just input your phone number and NOT Country or Zip. For the last three days I'd been trying to find mine using all three (phone #, USA & zip code) and nothing was happening. Tried both my mobile number and the phone number connected to my credit card - nada! FINALLY it worked by just putting in the phone# connected to the credit card and nothing else. :)

I know, I know... it will arrive when it arrives, but it still is great to see it has actually shipped, rather than the same "Preparing for Shipping" on my apple.com account order history page.

Thanks again to all who posted the tips on how to find it on the UPS page!!

Mine just got shipped today swell. It is still in China but under the service type, "WorldWide Express" is listed. And it says delivery by 10:30 or Noon! I don't know what the earlier orders were shipped under but it looks like those just shipped get early day delivery!

I was finally able to locate it on the UPS site using my billing phone number! The Apple site still says "Preparing for Shipment". Between this and iOS 5 I can tell today is going to be a good day :).
