UPS trick finally worked for me for my wife's 4S that I ordered through Apple. For my sister's 4S (ordered through AT&T Premier), the trick still does not work with either UPS or Fedex.

Just got a shipping confirmation from apple.com

iPhone 4S 32gb black for Sprint

Shipped out 10/12 @ 11:50AM EST

Due on Friday End of Day
Just departed from China

Just called UPS and talked to the International shipping group. They said even though it says by the end of the day, the World Express shipping and our particular packages have a 10:30 am delivery expectation time. :D

They told me the same, only that in their system it shows delivery by 10:30 am TOMORROW. Although it seems unlikely given mine is still on a plane to AK

Using the UPS trick, I found my tracking info this morning on UPS and my phone left Hong Kong for the US some number of hours ago. Sadly, Apple still shows Preparing for Shipment and laughably, my AppleCare+ still shows Processing Items. Kinda wacky that Apple is so far behind on their updates.

Mine's on the same flight. :)

Finally

I got my shipping info. Ordered Sprint 32gb black. It's in China and says delivery by the end of the day on Friday. I knew it wouldn't be any later but it's nice to finally see it. I ordered at about 4:45am on Oct 7th and I'm in Maryland.

:)

2nd iPhone now registered with UPS. Still "Preparing for Shipment" on Apple's site.

Don't lose hope people!

My iPhone is on UPS47, too, and it just called and told me that it's really enjoying having met your iPhones. :)

And, finally, I have tracking info on Apple.com, too.

I'm on the 12:49am departure from Hong Kong too. Got the tracking # using the UPS trick. I wonder when Apple will finally update their own website to reflect that it's on its way to me?

I finally got my status updated on Apple.com. I got the email notification about 2 hours ago that my phone shipped. It shows the tracking # for the phone(which I already knew with the UPS trick) and now my Applecare+ shows completed. I think Apple's just behind with their updates versus UPS.

Still Processing Item. WTF Apple?

Me too, and the phone number hack did not show anything...assuming I did it correctly...making me nervous apple!

Not really, I don't need it day one..he'll I wasn't even going to order til my g said she wanted my ip4.

This may have already been covered a hundred times over, but I didn't see it when glancing and it helped me out so I'm posting here.

Ordered 2 phones...mine has shipped w/ tracking number, but my wife's still shows 'In Processing'. I've tried the 'UPS trick' several times with no luck in getting anything. Saw in another forum to try using your order number from Apple instead of your phone number. However, when you use the order number,**do not enter the last 2 digits**. Just delete them. When I tried this approach on my end, both tracking numbers then successfully show up on the UPS site and I can see that they are both en route. Hope this helps someone.

I'm able to track mine. It arrived in Honk Kong at 1:30am on 10/13/11 but doesn't show a departure yet. Pretty sure it will arrive on time but I would feel much better if I saw a departure scan.

I ordered a 64gb Black Sprint phone thru Apple.com at 5:30am Friday Oct. 7th
Still shows as processing, no updates at all. The apple care I bought shows as completed. My money i still pending on my bank site. Apple rep I spoke to today swore my phone would be here on Friday that updates were slow with a million orders, etc. And the UPS trick is not working with any of the 3 account numbers or my home phone or my order numbers. Starting to get really nervous, but keeping my hopes up. I am hoping like some said that it is shipping from the US and will have a shipping number after midnight local time.
