Apple.com pre-orders: Who's stuck in "Preparing for Shipment"

I have a 16gb white iPhone for AT&T that I ordered. I'm from San Diego, California. Perhaps it's possible?
 
In Utah here. I ordered a 32GB white and black. Both are still "preparing for shipping". Can't track with UPS either, so I assume they're shipping from within the United States.
 
I'm on the East Coast (PA) and I ordered two phones back-to-back about 90 minutes after launch.

The one for my wife is on it's way and I got shipping notice. Woohoo!

Mine is stuck in the "Preparing for Shipment". The funny thing is, it appears to be the AppleCare+ that's holding it up. The phone cannot be cancelled but the AppleCare+ can still be cancelled if I wanted to do so.

I tried the UPS and FedEx trick. No luck on either.
 
I ordered around 5am on friday. Mine has been stuck with "Preparing for shipment" for days. I did a chat with the apple store help and she said all orders set for the 14th delivery are on schedule. I do recall one of my iPads or iPhones previously ordered showed the same thing up til the day it was set to be delivered, then the status updated showing a tracking number, only after it was delivered.

Some of the phone are already at distribution centers from within the states to decrease the burden on the Shenzen hub. This is how the launches always have been.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm in LA and still "preparing for shipment"... soon enough!!!
 
From the order status page on AT&T's site, if I enter the phone number on the account, and the password, the page loads and informs me that my phone is still processing. However, if I instead click the button to the left on the initial page and just enter the order number, the page that loads says the phone is in progress and pending shipment. I'm guessing that's a good sign but it would sure be nice to see a tracking number.
 
I bought for iPhones for 4 different lines right before 2 am on launch day.
The 1st one I never got the confirmation email. I panic and I reordered again around 1 pm same day ( friday ) I got only one email with shipping confirmation. the other three don't even show up on ups. hope I will get four or them. I purchase them all of them under the same mac id
 
Still stuck in preparing for shipment. UPS and FedEx tricks don't work.
I ordered pretty late (9 pm ish) last Friday, so I might just be near the back of the processing,
I'll wait to start full panic until tomorrow afternoon.
 
I ordered around 5pm eastern time on Friday. No luck with the UPS trick. I'm not worried though. I'm with the people saying that a lot will ship from within the US.


Edit: Right after I posted this I checked the UPS tracking. It's there now. Coming from Shenzhen.

Mine is still stuck with preparing to ship. The track by reference trick does not work for me. I reserved my iPhone around 3:30am Friday morning but didn't get the order placed until 8:00pm that night.

Hope it makes it.

Oh btw I ordered from apple the 16gb white, I'm on the east coast (Delaware).

You are more patient than me. I swear every time I refresh my Order Status page, and see "Processing Items". It's hard for me to not worry! lol...

Maybe we will end up with our phones faster than some others though. I believe both FedEx and UPS deliver by around 10:30AM or so for overnight deliveries. They can be as late as 7:00PM for the other methods. So if our phones are indeed already in the USA and are going to be shipped overnight, I might be leaving work around 10:30AM. I just try to keep the positive thoughts even though it's tough to every time I see "Processing Items". ;)
 
Just checked UPS on my second phone using the order number method and it finally showed up even though Apple still says prepared for shipment.

Don't give up kids.
 
I think I buy that explanation that some of the phones are sent from inside the US. I might have heard this story before. It makes a lot of sense. My order still says preparing for shipment, but it still says delivers by Oct 14. I think it is going to work alright. I purchased from the Apple Store. AT&T White 64GB.
 
I ordered a 16G white for Verizon on apple.com on 10/7 around 1:30PM EST. It was sitting in prepared for shipping for two days. As of about 30 minutes ago, the UPS trick finally worked. Shipped 10/12 and is currently in China with ETA as 10/14. Oh and I live in NY if that helps at all.

Also, my credit card address was different from my shipping address as I live on a college campus. For anyone that may be wondering about that. However, my apple ID shipping address and Verizon billing address were the same. (campus).

been stuck in preparing to ship since saturday. been trying the ups in an OCD manner since. just checked not 30sec ago and BAM! tracking info!!!
