Apple.com Preorder Status Thread (merged)

I'm trying to decrypt my serial number and have no idea on how to from the original post...mine starts with DNP...is that the right number?
 
Mine is currently in Alaska. It's scheduled for delivery on Friday. The problem is that UPS doesn't deliver to my apartment until after 5PM and I have to be at work by 3PM. I'm holding out hope that it might be delivered Thursday. If not is there a way I can have UPS hold it and pick it up Friday at a UPS site??

Yeah, it made it to Louisville KY 12:07am. That's a long way in one day. Now its going to take three more days to get to Georgia.
 
My order still says Preparing for Shipment, If i'm due to get this on friday and this is shipping from hong kong or whatever, Shouldn't it be already in transit?? Kind of worried now. Unless apples's system is just not updated or something.

I lied and told my boss that I was going out of town and couldn't be at work on Friday. Luckily he's not in the Apple loop so nobodys the wiser :D
 
UPS My Choice

So I just payed for the UPS My Choice service.

When will I be able to set the hold for the UPS store or set the delivery window?

Not updated, most peoples orders say Preparing For Shipment, including mine. Track it with your phone number and zip through UPS.

WOW! you actually payed an extra 40 bucks for something i bet won't even work this Friday due to them being so overwhelmed.. Good luck though..

Current Info
  • The Store.Apple.com order status currently states Preparing for Shipment or Order Processing for everyone as of this posting. No one has reported the status as shipped so far.
  • Some phones are already stateside, originating in TN or IL. Others are coming through AK and going to either Ontario, California or the Louisville UPS hub.
  • You can check and see if you can get a tracking number early by following the guide in the first post of this thread. It seems the most reliable reference number is the billing phone number listed in your Store.Apple.com account. It should be entered as 5555555555, no dashes, spaces, or beginning 1's.
  • If you can't get tracking via UPS, DON'T Panic. If your Apple order says delivers Sep 21, all indications are that this is true.
  • If you want to check your serial number, go to Apple Support. This should list your iPhone 5 Serial number close to when it is shipped.
  • To see info on what said serial number means, visit http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html/
  • If you don't have a serial number yet, keep checking back. Most likely you also didn't get a tracking number yet, but a few reports say that you may get a tracking number before a serial number.

Please add to and edit this list as new info comes in and continue to post it when people keep asking the same questions. I don't expect everyone to have read the entire thread so posting this often will hopefully help.

32gig black Verizon... JUST got my serial number in the support section. No ups and still on "preparing for shipment"
