So I have an Amazon Prime order coming in on the 20th fulfilled by UPS. Let's see if "by end of the day" holds true. It's going to be like an exhibition game before the official game starts the next day :p.

been on Preparing for Shipment since Saturday.. ordered via the Apple App Store at 12:07am Friday Sept 14th with delivery for 9/21.

ordered Verizon 16GB White & Silver

Anyone know if its possible to Change Delivery and Ship to the Nearest UPS Retail Store for Pick-Up ??

I've been trying to change the delivery on mine so that I would be able to pick it up at the nearest UPS customer center. Though every time I try to log in to change my delivery options it just brings me back to the original tracking page. I'm going to keep trying till Thursday night...hopefully it changes...

I wonder if the iPhone 5 release is going to break or has already broken the record for most active users signed into macrumors.com at one time. There's like 4700 folks here now.

Does anyone know if the local AT&T, VZW, or Sprint stores will carry iPhone 5 USB cables or 30 pin adapters? If so, do y'all think they will have them friday? Just curious... I thought about waiting until some third party makers start pumping them out cheap, but I think I'd rather stick with Apple. (I know there are already some on amazon, but I feel those are pretty shady with the iP5 not even being out yet.

Quick question. Do you guys know if the new SIM card for ATT comes with the phone? Cause as far as I know the sim cards are different than the iPhone 4's and won't work with the new iPhone. Do I have to go to the ATT store or Apple store to get a new sim card?

I sent ATT an email about this and they said I would not have to bring it to the store but just set the phone up at home and it would all be good.

I love everyone getting their phones from Illinois, and I am in Illinois and am getting my phone shipped from China, ugh, haha.

Same, ordered two from Apple and one from Verizon. Both the ones from Apple are coming from china and the one from verizon is coming from Tennessee!

I'm not sure if anyone actually successfully did this yet. I think some have called Apple to have them direct UPS to allow pickup but, with all the discussion here, I could be mistaken. Otherwise you can pick up Monday the 24th.

Some have talked about having the package delivered to their local UPS store sometime Friday. You have to be a choice member and pay a $5 fee I think.
i called apple to have them direct UPS to allow pickup. this is the email i have:

Dear Apple Customer,

We have notified the carrier of your request to hold your delivery for pickup.

When the carrier responds, we’ll send an email with more information.

You can visit http://www.apple.com/orderstatus for the most up-to-date status of your order.

If you have any questions, please contact Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775. Our representatives are available to assist you from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Pacific time, 7 days a week.

It's mind numbing. As long as she comes on the 21st though, I am good.

Yes! I was just looking at that! I estimate it'll be broken Sept 21 1PM CST. LOL

Hey everyone

So im on a family plan and my iPhone was gonna be delivered at my mom's house (She lives in the same State), but she lives 40 minutes away from me so I didnt want to have to drive all the way there just to pick up my iPhone. So I contacted Apple and they changed the address. Now that I track my iphone on UPS this is what I SEe.. do you think this will delay when my iphone will be delivered? :( I really hope i can still get it friday

I have been thinking about this. What if all the UPS59 phones, made the flight, but in Anchorage, they did the departure scan, but forgot to submit it or upload it???? Maybe the more accurate scan is the Louisville Arrival Scan, and the whole system can't keep up.

So technically every one's phone which have a 12:58 Anchorage departure scan, actually departed somewhere between 3:00PM and 6:00PM, landing and checking in at Louisville, regardless if you get the correct arrival or departure scans at all. IE: The system is broken and we are left wondering why.

I have been thinking about this. I reviews the flight plans of all flights from Hong Kong to Anchorage. There is only one flight that matches.

UPS59, and this flight went to Ontario, California, not Louisville.

So our phones must be in Ontario, as of 10:45PM, tuesday. The departure scan on our tracking at the UPS web site, is completely false.

The alternative is they unloaded UPS59 and sent the cargo on another flight.

Two things, the batches that came out in August were, in all certainty, not Apple's first batches. They assuredly ran design and manufacturing verification batches in July -- or even June. All the kinks were most likely worked out at that time and even if they didn't, Apple has very stringent Q.C. so the phones with any defects wouldn't have passed through their inspections.

Second, if you must feel pity for someone, it should be the people who have had their phones manufactured in September. After a month of near-continious work, the machine bits are starting to get worn out and the workers more and more tired and frustrated -- after working long, arduous hours making the August-batch phones. That combination would surely lead to a lot more issues than any manufacturing issues Apple didn't solve during the verification batches. :)
Not to mention the glue hasn't dried. ;)

Hey, when I check online UPS I see my shipment in AK at the moment. But when I sign in apple it says preparing for shipment. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

Pretty sure the 12th would be the record. There were well over 5000 online that evening in the iPhone forum alone. Failed to check during the actual keynote. Arn would have to tell us.

Just found one of the first eBay "lightening adapters"; good seller rating so I ordered 2, fingers crossed.

What I really want to know is why do I keep trying to track my phone through UPS? It won't be moving agan until at least tomorrow night!
