Exactly my point WTF ! lol. I'm on the same boat

Mine is showing the same, but I'm not worried at all. It'll be here Friday. It's most likely in Louisville sitting on a pallet and it'll be scanned when it goes out to the local distro hub.

I just want mine to leave KY already and get to my local hub so they can hopefully deliver it early.

That's one reason they are holding onto them in Louisville until the last possible moment. They want them to get to the local distribution centers between 1 and 6 AM on the 21s and then loaded on trucks for local delivery. There will be all UPS hands on deck Friday.

Ok, for everyone who is wondering why Apple has not updated status to shipped even though a lot of people have figured out how to get UPS tracking numbers (or FedEx).

For those who tracked from China- China is production. When you order something to be shipped to you, it is shipped from a distribution warehouse not production. UPS main hub is Louisville Ky, it is also a drop ship distribution center for many companies who do not warehouse their products.

For those that came from areas in the U.S. and it now appears to be headed to Ky - those places are holding areas for storage. If you got your SN and checked it at the monkey site in previous posts you probably found that your production week was July or August and cannot sit and take up room in the production plants so they get shipped over to the U.S. and sit in a holding area other than UPS's busiest center.

Tomorrow we will begin seeing movement of all products to destinations close to you for delivery on launch day. At that point, you will begin receiving ship notifications from Apple because at that point it will be shipping from distribution to you.

Now, is it possible some of us will get our shiny new toy and nothing ever update - you bet because things happen. But this is why nothing has been marked as shipped from Apple and nothing is really moving away from Ky.

All that being said, I have enjoyed tracking mine to Louisville just as much as others, all part of the excitement to me.

You just got rid of ALL my worries. Thanks!

Still awaiting an arrival scan from AK 12:58 A.M.

My scheduled delivery also changed from end of day 9/21 to just 9/21:p

Im on the same situation but my delivery is still by 10:30 AM on 9/21. I do have UPS My Choice if that makes a difference.

My status

Just to update on my order for comparison to others. I ordered at 3:25am EST on 9/14. Apple is still "Preparing for Shipment" like everyone else, and the phone is about 10 hours(driving) away from me in MD.

Louisville, KY, United States 09/18/2012 3:51 A.M. Arrival Scan
Addison, IL, United States 09/17/2012 9:00 P.M. Departure Scan
09/17/2012 2:29 P.M. Origin Scan
United States 09/17/2012 5:55 P.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

Scheduled Delivery:
Friday, 09/21/2012, by 3:00 P.M.(by end of day for residential deliveries)

So last update was from 3:51am, but that didn't appear on my UPS tracking until about 5pm today. I'm guessing it's en route from Kentucky to the Baltimore area, then tomorrow to Thursday from Baltimore to my local hub, then delivery on Friday.

Mine looks like it went from Louisville back to Anchorage.

Anchorage, AK, United States 09/18/2012 12:58 A.M. Departure Scan
Louisville, KY, United States 09/18/2012 12:07 A.M. Arrival Scan
Anchorage, AK, United States 09/17/2012 3:06 P.M. Arrival Scan

I have been thinking about this. What if all the UPS59 phones, made the flight, but in Anchorage, they did the departure scan, but forgot to submit it or upload it???? Maybe the more accurate scan is the Louisville Arrival Scan, and the whole system can't keep up.

So technically every one's phone which have a 12:58 Anchorage departure scan, actually departed somewhere between 3:00PM and 6:00PM, landing and checking in at Louisville, regardless if you get the correct arrival or departure scans at all. IE: The system is broken and we are left wondering why.

If the 5th digit of my SN is 9 that would mean my phone was produced week 36, correct? I just want to make sure I followed it right.

Have to share/vent:

Ordered on 9/14 @ 3:15AM (Sprint, 64, black). Confirmed by email from Apple & bank (pending payment). Today, had to check my balance for some stuff. My balance increased. Checked what was missing (take a guess). I almost had a hissy fit (is hissy still a used/cool word ;)). Called my bank and they told me it was still there (purchase for the phone), just not showing on my statement. They told me to call Apple just in case.

Called Apple to address that matter and other stuff (like tracking). They told me my purchase was there and it's on for the 9/21 shipping. I asked about tracking and he said that more than likely, my phone was already here and I should get a tracking email tomorrow or Thursday. He said to check with the carrier for AppleCare (since many carriers don't cover theft/stolen for the iPhone). But the main thing was that my phone will be delivered on 9/21!

The Carriers do cover Lost/Stolen thru Asurion but AppleCare or AppleCare Plus don't and I should know because I am an advisor for AppleCare Tech Support

Also, let's say the manufacturing week is 37 vs 28... The newer the device, the more likelihood they discovered a defect in the manufacturing process and worked out the bugs. I pity those that got phones made in August, vs September.

Two things, the batches that came out in August were, in all certainty, not Apple's first batches. They assuredly ran design and manufacturing verification batches in July -- or even June. All the kinks were most likely worked out at that time and even if they didn't, Apple has very stringent Q.C. so the phones with any defects wouldn't have passed through their inspections.

Second, if you must feel pity for someone, it should be the people who have had their phones manufactured in September. After a month of near-continious work, the machine bits are starting to get worn out and the workers more and more tired and frustrated -- after working long, arduous hours making the August-batch phones. That combination would surely lead to a lot more issues than any manufacturing issues Apple didn't solve during the verification batches. :)

I feel a "I survived Anchorage Departure 12:58" coming on as soon as we get a status update. Haha. Seriously though, I'm confident we'll all get our phones by 9/21 regardless of the UPS errors. I'm sure there's an enormous overload of traffic, and we very well may have taken off on the flight earlier, but the system didn't update. Whatever the case may be, as soon as I see a check in near my local hub, I'll know I am good to go!

My phone didn't show it was scanned at 3:51 this morning until about 5 pm tonight. UPS is way behind with the updates.

Relax! :)

Sharing my situation with others who would be in the same wagon and would have pain. :)

AT&T 16 Black
Ordered 3:39AM ET via app
Delivers: 9/21
Method: Holiday Shipping

Status: Processing Items
NO serial on support page.
NO record on UPS or Fedex.

But since it mentions 9/21, I am relaxed and hoping an update tomorrow/next day.

Have a great evening/night. :)

I love everyone getting their phones from Illinois, and I am in Illinois and am getting my phone shipped from China, ugh, haha.

I'm sure the UPS backend is starting to get hammered with all these phones shipping.

Once those Apple order statuses change to "Shipped" all hell will break loose!

Did anyone else cancel and pre order from radio shack? If so what model and carrier. Also what is the ship date on your customer agreement? Specifically looking for Verizon white 32gb but all answers welcome.

You think UPS is not ready to handle a mere 2 million small packages plus their routine work? Probably a drop in the bucket. :)

What are you guys telling UPS to get them to hold your package without attempting a delivery?

I'm not sure if anyone actually successfully did this yet. I think some have called Apple to have them direct UPS to allow pickup but, with all the discussion here, I could be mistaken. Otherwise you can pick up Monday the 24th.

Some have talked about having the package delivered to their local UPS store sometime Friday. You have to be a choice member and pay a $5 fee I think.
