I understand that - I'm just trying to understand the hoopla about the manufacture week. Does it actually *mean* something? One better than the other? Or just how 'new' it is?

Anyone volunteering to swing by there to check if there is a wild party? I don't want my phone overindulging... or have to support a child later ... .

----------

Idk, an iPhone 5 mini for free would actaully be pretty nice. I allow the overindulging of my iPhone 5 - Party away, and make me a proud parent! iPhone 5 mini, here we come! :D

My white 16gb AT&T iP5 has been chilling in Nasville, TN... better not bring home any country music STDs!!!

Oh and it's production week 36 in September, Factory F2 (Have we figured out where that is?) headed to College Station, TX... I figure it will either go through DFW or Houston.

Anybody know the details on pre-signing or requesting them to hold it at the UPS store? I figure I'll be able to do that when I get the shipping notification from Apple.

When I open by box and smell my week 36 I'll probably be disappointed because I'll know week 37s smell better.

Well, mine left AK at 12:58 and that's the last update.

Still says delivery by end of day :(, but support.apple.com has a serial number next to it, so all's good.

BUT...this flip phone is killing me...I never T9 texted before, so ANNOYING. Lucky for me, I don't have many texting friends and iMessage works on my Mac.

Hmmm...now it just says 9/21...no more 'end of day.'

Interesting, mine says that too. Anyone else switch from End of the Day, to just 9/21?

Apple usually gives you the option of printing out a presign form when your status changes to shipped. Some of us have tried to use UPS MyChoice to have it held but earliest pickup date is Sept 24. They won't submit a hold request when you call them until they've made the first delivery attempt.

Mine still says 9/21 by 10:30am.

Just trivia, some of us are easily amused. Used to want to avoid a car built late on a Friday, early Monday morning, right before or after a holiday, but I understand these factories operate 24/7.

It may come in play later should some iPhones be found to have manufacturing defects and are traced back to the same build week and near the same sequence as yours.

Ooooh! That's a totally awesome and valid point I didn't even think of!! Good one!!

Thanks =)

ok...

Have to share/vent:

Ordered on 9/14 @ 3:15AM (Sprint, 64, black). Confirmed by email from Apple & bank (pending payment). Today, had to check my balance for some stuff. My balance increased. Checked what was missing (take a guess). I almost had a hissy fit (is hissy still a used/cool word ;)). Called my bank and they told me it was still there (purchase for the phone), just not showing on my statement. They told me to call Apple just in case.

Called Apple to address that matter and other stuff (like tracking). They told me my purchase was there and it's on for the 9/21 shipping. I asked about tracking and he said that more than likely, my phone was already here and I should get a tracking email tomorrow or Thursday. He said to check with the carrier for AppleCare (since many carriers don't cover theft/stolen for the iPhone). But the main thing was that my phone will be delivered on 9/21!

Applecare is $99 plus tax. I've had this charge on my card for over a day now, I don't think it means a thing besides the warm fuzzy that Apple knows you are there and has an order for a phone from you.

64gb black at&t ordered around 3:30am 9/14.

the anticipation is driving my absolutely bats*** crazy :p

anybody know where the phones heading to SC end up once they ship from louisville? is it columbia?

Not quite sure, but it wasn't on flight UPS59... So anyone else know what flight we're one? Since it left close to 1:00AM, it should have checked in, somewhere by now. It's 18 hours, MIA.. WTH...

Also, let's say the manufacturing week is 37 vs 28... The newer the device, the more likelihood they discovered a defect in the manufacturing process and worked out the bugs. I pity those that got phones made in August, vs September.

No change in my UPS delivery time, both phones shipping out of Addison say:

Friday, 09/21/2012, by 3:00 P.M.(by end of day for residential deliveries)

Here's my tracking info....nothing since this morning, but mine also changed from "end of day" to just 9/21, which is great, because end of day in my neighborhood is 5:30pm. I don't think I can wait that long!

Do they all have to go to Louisville? I live on the west coast and figured it's next stop was Seattle (I'm in Eastern WA)
