I don't know how many UPS planes are inbound on KSDF on a regular Wednesday, but it's fun to think about all these jets coming to pick up our iPhones. I imagine that shortly after these are on the ground we'll start seeing more package movement.

Well, what do we have here? :D

I received the same email, even though the tracking has said leaving Alaska since Tuesday. I'm curious as to the 10:30AM commitment. I actually called Apple on Tuesday and arranged for them to change the delivery status to hold for pick up on friday, pending approval from UPS, since I won't be around when my UPS guy usually delivers which is always after 5PM.

Should I be worried if mine didn't change to processing? It didn't charge my account or anything. My confirmation email says the 26th, but when i check on the website, it says its going to deliver the 21st.. Please help

:apple:

I live about 45 minutes from my local UPS facility, my time has not changed from 3-until end of day. Usually my packages get delivered between 5-6:30. Yes, it sucks.

So I am camping outside my house, looking into the sky, and tracking the planes that go by.

my iPhone must be on that plane, no that one! NO THAT ONE! THERE IT IS! :D

Interesting. I do not remember seeing that one before...

Well Apple had a little mix up with my order. Got this e-mail first:

Thank you for your recent iPhone purchase at the Apple Online Store.

While processing your iPhone order, we encountered an issue with your
AT&T account. According to their records, the phone number associated
with this order has been recently upgraded. As a result, your iPhone
order has been canceled and you have not been charged.

If you think you’ve received this message in error, please contact AT&T
at 1-800-331-0500. Once the issue has been resolved, please visit
store.apple.com to place a new order. If you reply to this email with
your new order number, we will process your order as quickly as
possible.

Sincerely

The Apple Online Store

Then did some bitching and got this e-mail next:

Dear iPhone 5 Customer,

The cancellation email you received recently was sent by mistake. Rest assured, we fully intend to get your iPhone 5 to you on 9/21. We do, however, need your permission to reinstate this order.

Please reply to this email as soon as you can with your desire to reinstate your original order.

To ensure a 9/21 delivery date, we must receive your email reply by 5PM CDT (Central Daylight Time), Tuesday, September 18.

We know you're excited about receiving your new iPhone 5. So are we. We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion.

Sincerely,

The Apple Online Store

It says I have two packages being shipped (only ordered one phone). Wonder what's in the other package?

Same here but I just live about 20 minutes from my local sorting facility. Mine get delivered usually about 5:30. I have a 2:00 - 6:00 delivery time but it'll most likely be towards 6.

Nope, they haven't left Louisville. That flight was just going there anyway. That 3:06 PM time you see was it's arrival from HK to AK. (Notice it was on 9/17)

But on flight tracker, they show UPS59 going to Cali, after Anchorage.

There should be a matching flight from Alaska to Louisville to the departures.

An alternative conclusion is they broke up UPS59 and reloaded the planes in Anchorage, sending some to Louisville and some to Cali...

It matters none to me, ultimately I live in a hub city, they can wait till 1 AM on Friday to send the phones from Louisville to Nor Cal, and we'd still get them 10:30AM :)

Scheduled Delivery:
Friday, 09/21/2012, by 10:30 A.M.
Last Location:
Departed - Incheon, Korea, Republic of, Wednesday, 09/19/2012

Wonder where mine is heading next

Your phone's flying with mine! I'm guessing they're off to Anchorage, then Louisville UPS World Port, then to us!

Yes, but since we know the staging area is the World Port, it's highly unlikely that your phone went that night. You most likely would have seen another scan. What would be expected is that all the phones are unloaded in Louisville and sorted at World Port before going to their respective Hubs.

It's more likely that your phone will go to Cali tonight or tomorrow. Mark my words.

I wonder what's up with mine.

I ordered at about 12:25a PST, and my orders still say "Preparing for Shipment" on Apple's site. If I look them up at UPS using the reference number, it actually returns three packages instead of the two I ordered. All three originate in ZhengZhou, China. One's sitting in Louisville, the other two left Alaska yesterday.

Weirdness.
