There were posts on AT&T thread and other threads about ordering after I did on the pre launch day and a guy even posted that he ordered on the 15th at 530 pm, yet his is coming Tom, that's well over 24hrs after mine and I have to wait. Not always early bird, just lucky bird. According to all sites, it couldn't be ordered till 8am Friday, I didn't know I could order hours before the "actually" order time.

All preorders went live at 12:00 am PDT. They go on sale in stores starting tomorrow at 8am. I think you confused the two.

Mine is in Colorado! Good stuff.

I stopped and talked to the same ups driver I talked to yesterday. He said if there's a "1" on your package, it MUST be delivered by 10:30AM. If it has a "1P", there's more leeway in delivery time. The 8th and 9th digits of your tracking number are the shipping method. Mine is "66" so it requires a signature.
So, does anyone know what algorithm Apple used to decide which get the early treatment? I ordered 3 iPhones. The first one was mine :D a black 64G. Then I ordered two white 32G for my daughters. All told, about 20 minutes from first order to last. The two white ones are marked "Deliver by 10:30" on the UPS site. Mine just says "Scheduled Delivery Updated To:
Friday, 09/21/2012"

??

When I talked to him, at first he said "if it's coming from Kentucky, it'll take 3 days at the least to get here." I said no, my tracking info says tomorrow, so apple must have an agreement with them. He accepted that. This guy I talked to is a really nice guy. He said that if I see a ups truck and I'm not home, I can ask him to pull over and ask if he has my package.
O great - now every UPS truck in the country tomorrow will get pulled over by rabid iPhone seekers. They will never complete their routes.... :p

Looks like this guy ran off the end of the runway a few miles :) It was interesting watching the plane back up to the airport. In all my years looking at flighttracks, I don't think I ever saw this.

Oh wow I feel a little bit more stupid now.... So no way of knowing that ahead of time now is there

The delivery information displayed on the UPS web site, e.g., by 10:30 A.M., reflects what's on the package, i.e., there's a '1' on the box. The '1' isn't for you, it's for the driver. Does logical thought flee in the presence of iPhone fever? :D
