Apple.com Preorder Status Thread (merged)

anyone pre sign for their package? i want to as i may not be home but someone else will.. just seems kinda sketchy

UPS always delivers to my neighborhood around 5-7 PM but I'm worried that if I go into the office in the AM and come home around noon, I'll miss the UPS guy. you should just tell them to hold the package now at the UPS facility so it won't even go on the truck. if it goes on the truck then you'll have to wait til it gets back to the UPS facility in the evening. i'm sure if they hold the package before it goes on the truck, you can get it in the morning before work!

I got that too and searched for it on google and it turns out there is no Hodgkins, IN, so it must be the one in IL

I remember when I went to get the 4 a couple years ago. They did not let anybody camp. They were sending people home until around 4-5am. People just hung out in their cars in the Macy's parking lot.

i'm going to be home but i'm placing the forms anyway on the front door and the garage door in the back in case UPS just assumes no one is home during the day and doesn't even bother ringing my doorbell. just being safe ;)
 
Last update on mine has it in CT at 6:45 PM est. Hopefully it will be in MA and out for delivery tomorrow. Wish they didn't have to stop over in CT.

Storm just started here in Central Florida. Has knocked some power out. Hope this doesn't interfere with deliveries in the morning!!

There is also a hub in Gardena... that is where Flight Aware indicated mine was going earlier.
 
Okay, all my phones are at the local sorting facility.

What I don't get, they traveled from KY to CA in less than 1.5 hours. That is, departure scan to arrival scan.

At what Mach does a UPS plane have to travel to make this time?

Oh, I thought it was too late to do that. I'll look into that, thanks.

I should have done the Apple pre-sign thing, but too late now (I don't have a printer at the house).

sign into your UPS my choice account and click on "change delivery" and i'm pretty sure you can still get it to hold at facility...do a chat with the UPS rep first to see if you can, their chat ends at 10pm so better get on it!
 
Anyone figure out why some are 2 Ib while others are only .9?

I have pre-signed every year, never had a problem but I'm usually home very soon after its delivered.

I've done it before, it's just like it would be if you didn't have to sign. I put it on the door for my MacBook Pro, and when I didn't see a box I was disappointed...then I realized the paper was gone. I actually went outside this time, and there she was (MBP).

So, it's a good way to see if there should be a box outside or not. I'm definitely doing it again. :cool:
