My original Oct. 5th delivery has just shipped so I think it has been bumped as well.
Sept. 28th delivery.

Same here! :D It looks like those of us who *just* missed the initial rush to get them delivered this week will all get ours on the 28th.

I was perfectly fine with getting it on the 5th, so this is a nice surprise.

Took 12hr from the time my phone was loaded on truck for delivery unti it actually got to me. And although I work 12-16hr days regularly lately, I'm an office dweller and the heaviest thing I lift is my laptop. These guys were moving packages for 12hr straight before they got to my phone.

Yeah, they definitely work hard, I won't deny that. I worked for a couple moving/shipping/storage facilities over the years, definitely a tough job.

The phone eventually arrived at 7:26pm EST. The guy was super nice, too...

"Bet you've been waiting on this all day!"

Me: "Yeah, you could say that."

Him: "Well, sorry for the delay, this neighborhood is at the very end of this area's route, which doesn't make sense to me seeing as how the neighborhood right behind yours is first on another route."

Me: "... Yeah, that's dumb."

Him: "Yeah, it is. Have a nice day!"

Me: "I will now, thanks!"

I have to have a Micro Cell at home to make things work, otherwise it's just 2 bars, and dropped calls. AT&T gave it to me for free.

Did you notice the iPhone wasn't picking up the micro cell yesterday? ATT had to push some changes to the micro cell and things are fine today. In the mean time, the iPhone 5 seemed to have had better connection than the other phones we have used in our house which is on the edge of coverage. The low signal test will be next week when we head out to the camp for a few days, however.

I ordered two AT&T 64GB Black around 8AM EST on the 14th. There was only about a 30 minute wait at the Apple Store yesterday evening, so I was planning on canceling the online orders and purchasing at the store, but they already ran out of that particular model.

However, late last night, the status on both of my orders suddenly changed to Preparing for Shipment but still say "Available to ship: 2 weeks" and "Delivers Oct 5". You would think the that the timeframe and dates would have changed too, but I guess I'll have to wait and see to see if they change to Sept 28.

Hey guys,
Ordered a black 16GB Verizon iPhone 5 from the apple online store on 9/14 at approximately 930 AM EST. Received a confirmation email on 9/14 at approx 115 PM EST that my phone would be available to ship in two weeks and deliver on October 5th. This morning (9/22) I was happily surprised to wake up to an email from apple stating that my iPhone 5 has shipped and will deliver on 9/28. I hope the rest of you who had an original ship date of 10/05 wake up to some good news today too!

My black 16GB order (ordered 9/14 at 7AM EST) is now preparing for shipment... kind of mad that it got bumped up so quick, actually. It was one of the October 5th orders. I was going to check around at a few stores the next few days and see if they got any white models in. Now that it's preparing for shipment, there's no way for me to cancel to free up my upgrade slot. If I find one today, I'll be PISSED :(

Would Verizon give me a microsim?

Yes, they'll already have one in the phone.

Hmmm- lets see who's ships first... Mine is a Black 16 GB ordered at 6am EST on 9/14. Showed that is was "Preparing for shipment" at around 5:30pm yesterday as I was headed out to see if I might find one in the stores... Credit card has been charged. Still says delivery by October 5th...

anyone else have an order scheduled for 10/10? i ordered on 9/15.. kind of hoping my phone gets shipped early as well.

What's in the phone now is a nano sim, I believe that's different from a micro sim. Nano sims seem to be impossible to find for now.

Guess I wasn't paying attention. Sorry. Why do you need a micro SIM?

Edit: nvm, went back and saw. So why the need for a new nano SIM? Can't Verizon associate the nano SIM that came with the phone to your act?

I would think they could give you a micro SIM since they have them for the 4s. Keep in mind you need to sand it down.

The UPS truck came around 3pm on 9/21, stopped at my house, the driver spent some time rummaging through the back, and then he just left again. What a disappointment! Did they loose my phone? How can I find out?

The problem is I already sold my old iPhone. I had to ship it 9/21 to get the promised price.

Called UPS, and they claim they will deliver today, but I think they lost the phone.

I really need a nanosim, but they're impossible to find right now. I microsim would work, it would just need to be cut in order to fit.

I need a new sim because I purchased the iPhone using another persons account and upgrade. It seems a sim can only be programmed to one account.

While your frustration is completely understood, part of civility and humility is to understand that you are not the only customer who got the short end of the stick....

Very well done and decent of you to take the time to offer the thoughtful and calming reply.

We're all geeks and we all feel the heartbreak of someone not getting their new iPhone exactly when it was expected.

My father and I bought 2 iphone 5s to upgrade both of our AT&T lines. Both were ordered online through Apple and came sealed. I am keeping mine but he wants to sell his so he hasn't opened it yet. Because it was an upgrade does he have to open it and activate it or can I just sell it for him sealed the way it is?
