Still nothing on UPS or My Profile.
AT&T 16GB ordered at 3:25 AM EST.

There is a theory going around that 16GB models are already in the US (Kentucky?), will take less time to ship, and therefore will ship out last. This make sense to me, as the cheapest models are always the most popular by a huge margin, so they will need more for launch and will have started production earlier.

Sounds plausible, but a lot of 16GBs now at least have tracking numbers and such. Blah.

This may sounds crazy, but if you are using Chrome, try another browser. For some reason I do not think it plays well with refreshing. On order night, my chrome browser kept showing the Apple store still closed until I tried it in safari at 3:05. The same thing with the tracking. Kept showing no information found, then tried Safari and bam...it was there. May just be a coincidence.

Fifth digit is D, same as mine, so week 37.

The math I'm doing, for the curious, is 26 + the number in position five.

Or, for a letter in position five, C = week 36, D = week 37, and so on. But skip vowels, B, S and Z.

I'm curious who has the earliest! That should tell us almost exactly when production started.

My 16gb is in Nashville...

anyone with an October ship date get lucky and get shipping notifications yet? Curious as to whether or not I will receive mine early (Oct. 2).

Mine says it'll be here on October 5th and I haven't received a shipping notification yet. #

One more thing I wanted to ask other people, when does Apple take the funds out from ones credit card, beacuse I ordered my Black 32gb for AT&T through and they haven't taken the funds out yet. My order still says "processing"?

I think it depends. They took my money out pretty quickly, I think it was pending saturday morning. I don't think it is indicative of anything being wrong with your order as long as your order status still says Delivers 9/21. Hopefully your order will show preparing for shipment soon! Good Luck! :)

Same here, except for verizon. My order is still "processing" and the funds haven't been taken out of my credit card yet, just "pending". Still says 9/21.

Cut off time for 1st batch

Has anyone figured out the official cut off time for 1st batch?

I think it was around 12:45am PST. If you ordered after 12:45am PST you will not get the Sept 21 shipment. The second batch will arrive between Oct 1 and Oct 5 depending on how far away you are from Kentucky.

Although some orders have changed to the 21st delivery, so some people will get theirs earlier, so i read somewhere!

Has anyone had any movement on a 64gb black Verizon? I put my order in at 12:20am PST. On apple it says preparing to ship but UPS isn't coming up with anything.

=( getting worried. Also have to lineup on friday since my mom wants one now xD. my dad will be home that day so he'll sign for my phone.

Some serial number decoding insight I've learned over the last little while:

The last four characters are the same for everyone with a particular phone. It is characters 6-8 that are unique to your phone (well, not technically unique, but taken with all the rest of the characters, they are)

Basically, you can post up 12345...9012 but leave out 678 and no one will be able to identify your phone.

Characters in positions 1 and 2 are the factory is was made in (same for all Apple products made in that factory)

Character in position 3 - I have no idea, any guesses? Perhaps a checksum digit?

Characters in positions 4 and 5 make up the production week of your phone (same for everyone whose phone was made that week)

The earliest production week stated so far in this thread has been 32. That's the week of August 5-11 as shown:

32 - August 5-11
33 - August 12-18
34 - August 19-25
35 - August 26-Sept 1
36 - September 2-8
37 - September 9-15

Characters in positions 6, 7, and 8 show how many phones into the production week yours was (so naturally, knowing this along with the first five digits will pretty much give away your serial, if the person knows what kind of phone from positions 9/10/11/12 below)

Characters in positions 9, 10, 11 and 12 - these last digits are the Apple product model. Every iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple TV, or Thunderbolt display of the same configuration will have the exact same last 3 (or now 4) characters. This is why one of my iPhone 5s is F38W (64GB black for at&t or carriers in Canada) and the other is F38Y - all other people with a white 64GB phone on at&t will also have a phone that ends in F38Y. It could be made in a different factory (1/2), a different production week (4/5), obviously it'll be a different phone so (6/7/8) are different, but (9/10/11/12) will always be the same.

Mine has characters 3 and 4 as J7... Any idea?!
