I just got something new....

Incheon, Korea, Republic of 10/02/2014 12:16 A.M. We were unable to load the package on the plane as scheduled.

I just got exactly the same thing... With the nice calming green "In transit" graphic now changed to an alarming red on bright yellow graphic stating "Exception"! :(

Just got the same ****ing ******** message. I've never been more angry at anything in my life.

Me too.

Wait what? Is this boiler plate text that they are pasting into everyone's scans? Why would a phone go back to Incheon from Louisville?

I did not get my message but my iPhone left Hong Kong and returned to China. That ****ing phone is more well traveled than I'll ever be!

I found this to be very odd as well. Is it possible that these scans are entering the system late or something?

Just got some movement within the last 10 minutes. I have a 10/2 estimated delivery, mine had been sitting in Louisville since Sunday morning, just got an import scan, looks like this thing is about to be on its way.

It's not on mine but then mine is still stuck in ZZ apparently it's departed twice from ZZ it just doesn't seem to go anywhere. I assume my pallet just can't be fit onto a plane or something so it departs but doesn't actually go anywhere. This is getting really frustrating as I've not had these problems before with UPS.

Well, I've had the first update since Sunday at 6:33AM. It's not exactly a progress update, but at least I have a delivery date now and import scan from Louisville. For the last few days it's say "delivery date unavailable". At least it's something.

I just had a chat with a UPS representative. Here's what was said.

Initial Question: Why is My Package Stuck in ZhengZhou, China?
Susan B.: Hi, this is Susan B.. I'll be happy to assist you.
Susan B.: Due to special Apple operating plans, scheduled delivery dates fluctuate on these U.S. import packages. This date may continue to update until the package enters the U.S. Once packages are imported into the US, the scheduled delivery date should no longer fluctuate. I'm really sorry for the delay in getting your package.

I know you are very anxious to receive your shipment. Right now, I'm showing a delivery date of 10-06-14. I would recommend that you continue to track the package and you can also request status updates through ups.com.
Me: Thank you. Take a look at my scans. It's been in ZhengZhou, China for four days before a departure scan. Then, the next day, another departure scan...
Me: I want to know what is happening. I too see a delivery date of 10/6.
Me: But...
Me: It was 10/1, then 10/2, then 10/3 and now 10/6.
Me: I belong to an Apple forum where like minded people are sharing their horror stories.
Susan B.: I apologize for all the changes to the delivery date, but due to special Apple operating plans, the scheduled delivery dates fluctuate on these U.S. import packages.
Me: One person had their iPhone go to South Korea only to magically appear back in ZhengZhou.
Me: When is my iPhone leaving China?
Me: Special Apple Operating plans? I'm sure they didn't plan multiple departure scans from ZhengZhou, among other things.
Me: There are a lot of people, not just me, that are having these issues.
Me: Someone from UPS needs to look into what is happening there. My opinion anyway.
Susan B.: You are correct. It is not just your package. There may be a delay in getting the packages through customs.
Me: Are you still there?
Me: Okay. Thank you.

For My Choice members who got the email that their phones will be delivered tomorrow:

Since we clearly will never, ever, receive our phones.. is anyone planning on going in to UPS tomorrow to pick up the phone, per the email?

Usp

Contacted UPS and got this:

iPhone shipments are part of multi-piece shipments. Due to special Apple operating plans, schedule delivery dates fluctuate on U.S. imports. The scheduled delivery date may continue to update until the package enters the U.S. and clears customs the schedule deliivery date should no longer fluctuate.

Wow, this only confirms my suspicion that Apple has been involved in withholding deliveries for some odd reason. Thank you for sharing this.

FYI...this is the flight it looks like our phones are on.
https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS63

Should get into Anchorage about 1p Anchorage time (5p Eastern). Should then get into Louisville around 1a Eastern on Thursday AM. Not sure what happens once it gets to Louisville. Still holding out hope for a Friday delivery though Apple and UPS are saying 10/6.

Awesome. Thanks for the link and the much needed dose of optimism!!!

I ordered a 16GB gold (non +). Final destination is outside of Philadelphia, PA. You?

The thing is, Apple quotes ridiculous ship times. When I placed my order, I was quoted Oct 13-20.

When it was originally shipped, I was quoted Oct 2. Apple doesn't give a **** if I don't get my phone on Oct 2. They have their asses covered until the 20th. So as long as my shipment arrives before Oct 20.. Apple doesn't give a ****

Actually, I'd think it was more that the Chinese government is playing games with Apple because they have competitive phones to sell, and it showed in the recent negotiations that China doesn't really like Apple very much.

Gotta love a good conspiracy theory.

Or, it could just be that UPS sucks.
