Apple.com preorder thread - iPhone 6/6 Plus

ATTN: Advice on iPhone 6 Plus preorder
So I have been without a personal phone since September 15th. I sent in my iPhone 5 for the Recycle Reuse Apple program and still have been waiting on my gift card. I'm curious as to this point if I should move forward as planned and order a Gold/White 64gb iPhone 6 Plus (AT&T Carrier) or if I should wait until after the holidays (Xmas). The reason I ask is if I were to place an order today or sometime this week, what are the chances I will even receive one before xmas? I know the lead times are saying 3-4 weeks on Apple's website, but really that's not the case. I have heard from friends that their dates are now "TBD." Local AT&T and BestBuy stores said that it would be faster to get one just by luck of a daily shipment they get throughout the week. Responders please let me know when you guys have personally preordered your iPhone 6 Plus and if you have received it yet or if you're still waiting on receiving it AND how long has your wait been so far since you've ordered. You will definitely get it before christmas...nobody has went over or to there 4week date
Ordered on 9/20 and still nothing! Tomorrow will be Day 21 for me
I was hoping to see some movement this week or at least a change in status. Maybe over the weekend. This has been the longest wait for any Apple productOrdered on 9/20 and still nothing! Tomorrow will be Day 21 for me

ive been trying to figure out what kind of wait we are in for so i can take that day off from work haha...im really hoping its the week of 10/21 rather than 28....hard to judge by the posts here, seems so scattered
from previous posts it seems that if it ships next week it will be here by next weekend or the week of the 20th
I cancelled my att order when they said 11/27 delivery.I ordered on apple.com on 9/21 6+ 64gb space grey,its at my local ups hub for monday delivery..Shipped from Zeng Zhou China.My order went from processing to preparing for shipment.Then shipped the next day.I never got an email or anything from apple.I checked my order through the apple store app and noticed the change.
I know a bunch of you are asking about this process so I wanted to share my experience and what I have seen on this forum the last 3 weeks!
I ordered 2 phones on 8:30 am EST on 9/19
I immediately signed my contract knowing from previous experiences that your order isn't taken fully until the contract is filed!
Both Pluses (1 Gold 64gb and 1 SG 64gb) for AT&T
I ordered directly through Apple (over the phone) and when I ordered the rep informed me that Apple should be able to get the phone to me quicker then AT&T due to the fact that there is no middle man.
I was given a shipping estimate of 3-4 weeks and a delivery time frame of Oct 20th-28th
My order processed until the end of the day on Thursday, 10/9 (21 days later)
This morning, 10/11 at 3:00 am when I got up I revived a tracking number for both phones
My phones are estimated to be delivered on Thursday 10/16 which is almost an exact month after my order was placed!
Has anyone else revived a tracking number????
As for all of you that ordered on 9/20 and 9/21 hang in there I have noticed over the last few weeks of watching this forum that you are almost there! If you follow the exact same track as I did you should prepare to ship very soon and should have your phones in your hand the week of October 20th! Best of luck!

I ordered through Att on presale day and it gave me a long wait so on the 20th I cancelled and placed a new order with Apple for 6+ 64gb and still processing. I have a 6 that I am using because I got it on launch day from Walmart but not enough memory. So I'm using this until my other arrives which I hope will be saying preparing to ship or something#
My phone just changed to shipped this morning.
Same for me. Only preparing for shipment one day. I was expecting a lot longer based on other people. I'll take it.
