Here's a bigger mess:
Called att yesterday to pay of existing NEXT so I could order. This is before I found out about the "NYC people can't do next online" deal. They charge me $444 to pay off my old 5S - fine. A few hours before the online store closes down, i check and see that I get error messages for a next upgrade on both AT&T and Apple.com. By now, AT&T has closed. I get a hold of online chat after hours who are pretty moronic and say "sure you will be fine when preorders open"
Well guess what: When Preorders opened, the NEXT upgrade errored out at Apple.com. When I try to order on att.com, it says that I have one payment left to pay my 5S off - a load of crock as i had paid att off completely the previous night. Try and order from ATT by paying it off, it won't accept it. I tell it that I will return the device (no i won't, since i paid it off) in a month and upgrade to 6+ 128. Get a confirmation screen but no charge no email. Same thing when i do a regular upgrade for a 6 on another line. But no email or charge - for both lines now, which is pretty disconcerting, specially after being d!cked around by att. I head off to Apple and do the regular upgrade there, get a confirmation of delivery by 9.19 and an email.
So for now, I will call att when they open and tell them I am not sending the 5S back and to cancel the 6 order through them before i get double charged for the same phone from att and apple. Since Apple was erroring out when trying to do the next, I am not going to do that deal through them, just the 6 on a regular upgrade.
What a headache just to get two damn phones. Hate ATT.
