Yeah, agree. For this preorder thing to work, you have to do a lot of preplanning. I went and paid off my AT&T account a couple days ago and then made sure it said $0 owed early today. I made sure all passwords were working. I checked and rechecked my CC info in the Apple store app etc etc etc lol.

Yeah this whole upgrade\carrier check is BS. Apple looks so bad. It's CLEAR that they're in bed with the carriers. Every other country you pick the phone and check out, none of this "gotta check with the carrier" garbage.

I am happy to give them $949, but since Apple is in bed with ATT, they won't just take my money.
 
Good luck to you guys who ordered through AT&T. Last year I was one of the first guys to get through on the Note 3 preorder. They have no que system, and send them out not based on who ordered first, but by whatever is convienient for them. I waited almost 1 month beyond, most people to get my phone. I was soooooooo pissed.

Got through on the ipad app

64 6+ in gold en route for delivery the 19th. Glad I had a ipad laying around. Also glad I live in Hawaii it's only 22:39 here:p.
 
So I have no idea what's going on... An ATT premier order went thru with an order number but no confirmation.

And I got that stupid reservation code off the Apple Store app but that didn't finish all the way...
 
Apple has found a way to reward loyal customers.

I have 2 iPhones, unlocked and out of contract. I'm a loyal Apple customer. Apple has gotten in cahoots with ATT and the carriers on this one to preference those who will sign contracts and do the ghetto next plan.

I just want a phone, no contract, just forking over $1k
 
This has to be the weirdest process for ordering ever. The website is still down yet I was able to order though the app. SMH. Oh well glad I got through at all.
 
Got mine at 08:40am through the Apple Store UK site, 64GB 6 Plus Silver, couldn't get in on the Apple Store app, but yeah through on there with a delivery date of 19/9 :)
 
This ordering experience was worse than all the other years... last year was the easiest when I got 4 iPhones ordered in 5 minutes and went back to bed :(
 
Happy birthday to me. After little over an hour and a half, got through Verizon and got the 6 64gb ordered.
 
It is just unreal to me that the website has never come up at all. Thank goodness I got the app set up today. I had never ordered through the app before. Now I always will lol.

I got an order through with ATT... got a confirmation number and I check order status and it still shows they're processing it... no email confirmation though. When it first went live. Now when I go to try to order another at no contract, and the option for no contract isn't even available. So mine BETTER ship and not alter my contract.

I also got a "we have a phone for you xxxxx" on the app, dunno if that'll email me or what.
 
When I got my confirmation number it said to go to http://buyiphone.apple.com/status for updates. I went there and it confirmed my confirmation number. Wanted to double check one more time before sleeping but now it says it DOESN'T have my confirmation. I'm hoping their system is broken but my confirmation is still in there. I screenshot'd that badboy but I doubt they'd honor that.

Yup. I'm going to call at&t and figure it out in the morning. Hopefully, I can cancel the AT&T order and get the Apple store app one because that promised delivery on the 19th.

Nope, mine either. This whole process is a complete joke. Biggest company in the world can't handle a basic product launch pre-order in 2014. Glad the media loves to attack apple, because this one deserves it, what a joke!

Yeah, after all these years you would think they would have ironed this stuff out by now... last year was very flawless overall -- then this year probably the worst ever.
 
Here's a bigger mess:

Called att yesterday to pay of existing NEXT so I could order. This is before I found out about the "NYC people can't do next online" deal. They charge me $444 to pay off my old 5S - fine. A few hours before the online store closes down, i check and see that I get error messages for a next upgrade on both AT&T and Apple.com. By now, AT&T has closed. I get a hold of online chat after hours who are pretty moronic and say "sure you will be fine when preorders open"

Well guess what: When Preorders opened, the NEXT upgrade errored out at Apple.com. When I try to order on att.com, it says that I have one payment left to pay my 5S off - a load of crock as i had paid att off completely the previous night. Try and order from ATT by paying it off, it won't accept it. I tell it that I will return the device (no i won't, since i paid it off) in a month and upgrade to 6+ 128. Get a confirmation screen but no charge no email. Same thing when i do a regular upgrade for a 6 on another line. But no email or charge - for both lines now, which is pretty disconcerting, specially after being d!cked around by att. I head off to Apple and do the regular upgrade there, get a confirmation of delivery by 9.19 and an email.

So for now, I will call att when they open and tell them I am not sending the 5S back and to cancel the 6 order through them before i get double charged for the same phone from att and apple. Since Apple was erroring out when trying to do the next, I am not going to do that deal through them, just the 6 on a regular upgrade.

What a headache just to get two damn phones. Hate ATT.

I hear you. I can't stand AT&T when it comes to their customer service and mucking up your bill in some way, you'll be credited but slowly over a months time. I love their coverage though which is the only reason I'm with them.
 
I got to say since I first got an iPhone with the 4S, this has been the worst pre order experience. Web store just down, people having various issues with the app, carrier sites. Were there others pre 4s that was this bad or worse?

The first time I checked, it showed my order was all fine and dandy. I'm hoping the status report function is overloaded but our orders are still safe and secure. I'll be checking for that email first thing in the morning. :(
