I ordered my 6 Plus through the app at around 3:36am ET and received a text alert from AmEx almost immediately saying my card was charged the full amount. Hopefully your phone arrives on time.

I ordered my 6 Plus through the app at around 3:36am ET and received a text alert from AmEx almost immediately saying my card was charged the full amount. Hopefully your phone arrives on time.
Still waiting for 'preparing to ship' to magically appear on my account! Got my order in on the Apple iPhone Ap for a 6+ /64gb/ Space Gray/AT&T at 3:23AM Eastern. Credit card was charged right away with a pending charge for the entire amount. Total is still pending. Delivery date is 9/19. Hoping to see movement to shipping in the morning!

yep. You should since you got yours in early and you have a 9/19 ship date.

I wonder how many people didn't wait for their confirmation email letting them know to finish their order within 24 hours. See I got the one for my phone and completed my order, but didn't get the one for my wife's phone even though I submitted hers first. After not receiving her email I went ahead and tried to complete it anyways and sure enough it let me, but gave me 3-4 weeks delivery. I figured it was because the 64gb models were just too popular and were sold out already (This is 11am on the 12th). I talked to my wife and she said we'd just try to get one from the Apple store on the 19th for her. Well 30 minutes later I got her confirmation email and sure enough, went through the process and got 9/19!

I'm guessing because they wont accept trade ins. Although they should have it where only new next clients are ok to preorder through app. Obviously they wouldn't be trading in their phones since this will be their first year.
They need to hold back all orders for the plus for 3 weeks to be fair to those who tried to order a 3:01 am EDT but were unable to do so despite their earnest attempts. For people who go to the physical stores they should have some available on the 19th for the 'campers' and those at the front of the line who deserve something for their efforts.
As I recall when I did get into the Apple store via the app the non Plus was readily available and could be added to the cart, but not the Plus, and in particular, the 128GB version which was the only one I was interested in. That occured no more than 20 minutes after 3am EDT when the site first became responsive for me. That would indicate that 128GB plus was already sold out in the 1st 20 minutes or there never were any to start with.
I ordered from the app somewhere between 3am and 3:30am EST - 6+ 128 Silver AT&T - when I went to select it, I was able to, but each step of the way there was an error forcing me to retry. I just continued to retry until I was finally able to get through and place my order, with a 9/19 delivery date. My order has since changed from Processing to Preparing for Shipment as of 10pm EST today.
I received a confirmation email at 3:29am and my card had already been charged the full amount (which is still pending but that's not unusual in my opinion).
I think the load balancing was doing weird things during that time - I remember people posting about certain combinations being available even after others had posted about giving up on a particular color/size...
In any case to be fair to others your order should have been held back 3 weeks like everyone else's.
My iPhone 6 Plus 64GB Silver (GSM) is preparing for shipment now. That means everything of mine is now preparing for shipment.

Got one 6 & 6+ ordered both 64gb space grey for verizon the 6 was ordered around 4am central time on the 12th and the 6+ was ordered around 10 am central time through a reservation. Come on Friday hurry the heck up!!!

My first order, a 128gb space gray 6+, went through around 2:20 cst, and it's in processing for delivery 10/1 to 10/6.
My second order, a 64gb space gray 6+, went through around 2:45 cst, and it's preparing for shipment with a delivery of 9/19.
Go figure.
