Anyone know when apple charges the card? I have the pending charge/hold on my card right now and in preparing for shipment. Problem is I preordered from AT&T first but cancelled it. Apple charged me right away then att charged me the next day. So now my account is negative until att releases the funds. I just don't want my order with apple to get cancelled because of this.

Yeah I wondered the same thing in regards to this being a sticky. Why do the AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint pre order threads get sticky, and the Apple one does not? Is if because we made the smarter move and went with Apple and not the stupid carrier preorders?
I will never preorder from a carrier site again. I did it with the 5, and it took until the middle of Oct to get the phone.

Using the UPS reference tracking method with my phone number I was able to find my ups tracking number. 1.3lbs. Label created 9/13. Then I remembered that I have a myups account. Logged in and it told me the ship date is 9/19 by 3pm. Score!

Will this app find that actual tracking number? So far it just seems to show that you have an order.
It won't find the tracking number until apple marks the order shipped and the tracking number is attached.
Since you already have your tracking number, I would just track that.

Tried to order starting midnight PST ( live in S California) never got through the website. Tried and tried on the app - never got very far. Tried ATT website as well. Finally got a order in with ATT at 1:30 PST for 6 plus 128 silver.
Went to bed with out confirmation email. Next morning I got a email from Apple about reservation spot. Was sent at 2:34 AM - 1 hour after I i went to bed. att email as well. ATT said Nov delivey. My reservation # for Apple Store showed avail for 19. Store pickup or shipping Oct 13 - 20. Store pick up was not available because I bought via ATT Next :-( - Apple still had the better delivery date, so I went with the Apple order and tried to cancel the ATT. First they said you can only cancel with 15 min of order but when I explained this would have been impossible they finally agreed to cancel. - it will take a few days to complete the cancelation I was told.
Sine my order would have been avail for store pickup on launch day I hope Apple revises their shipping date as I don't see a reason for the 4 week delay. I know we here in S Cal got shafted as we where blocked for the longest time by Apple servers. I saw people getting order confirmation from all over but here we locals got Zip! C' mon Apple , that was lousy. actually the whole preorder event was embarrassing.

Not paranoid, reasonable. My cc company blocked my payment thinking it was fraudulent, even though I called ahead of time to tell them I would be making a large purchase on apple.com and to be sure to tell the fraud dept not to block it. Took me about 6 hours to get it straightened out. Lucky my delivery date is still 9/19.
I found my shipping info from the preorder 2 years ago and I remember now they sent out on a Monday but they sent them to Louisville and had them hold them until Thursday and then sent out UPS Next Day Air Saver. Therefore, I assume they will do the same so I wouldn't expect to see them Tue if shipped out Monday. I remember everyone on here at that time saying the same thing - they shipped out Mon or Tue but still didn't get until Friday. I even called Apple at that time thinking they were lost and they said no, they are held at various locations at Apple's request to the shipper.

They'll send you an email and it will show online in your orders. Like someone else said, you can choose to pre-sign and have them leave it but I never ever do that if no one will be home, way too risky.
Uhm, when should the phone show up in my support page? It's preparing for shipping since last night.
Mine still says preparing for shipment with a delivery date of the 19th but nothing shows up on FedEx or UPS with phone number or order number used as the reference. I wonder if those who are already able to track their shipments have units coming from China while others are already in their respective countries waiting to be distributed to local hubs.
Yeah, online under the order you can do this pre-signing thing but I never do as someone said because they could leave it on the wrong doorstep etc and then it is a mess to find out where etc because all they will show is they delivered it and then you have to get someone at the UPS number to care when you tell them no, it never got to me and then how do you prove that until they try to ask the driver to retrace his steps. All the while, you are sitting there without a phone. And Apple probably would make you wait out the process and then may not have another to send you anyway lol. I want them to have to get a signature even though it is a pain. And UPS told me once (if they use UPS again), they have the right to bypass that and still require a signature if they think the "situation" warrants it but who knows if they ever do. And honestly because of the volume, I don't think I personally got the tracking number until the day it arrived anyway.
