Oh my was this there in the beta too?It is not very obvious, but apparently you can tap the Widget and then you can disable the automatic switching and choose a device. But only in edit mode and when it is already on your screen.

Sometimes I do genuinely believe that. However you can get the percentage on the X, which is obviously older.Easy. Because they want you to buy a new phone if you have an XR or 11.
Perhaps it's to indirectly let people know if they get Pro models, they will get better and more iOS tweaks. Dynamic Island is a perfect example. They have probably kept 12,13,14 regular models not to make it too obvious, but this seems to be their direction.Sometimes I do genuinely believe that. This time I don’t believe it’s to get you to upgrade.
Uh…pretty sure the 12/13 mini have the highest-dpi displays of any iPhone. Those models specifically have low DPI displays, so rendering something as small as that might make it look weird or illegible.

It's not the same. The text was on its own line and not contained within a pill, it would definitely struggle to fit.
My 5 year old X has it.if you want a battery percentage upgrade to iPhone 14, peasants!
If you have nothing connected, then that widget shows phone batteryi wonder if it would be possible to show the percentage in a lockscreen widget.
the Apple one only shows me information about the watch.
I agree with you I have the 12 mini and I think it is ridiculous that I can’t have the battery percentage on mine!As a 13 mini owner, this is complete *********, sorry but it is.
Same. I had it on but the lack of a % and the fact the bar doesn’t changed really annoyed me. So I turned it back off 😂I prefer no percentage — my life has become less stressful by not knowing the number.
it can live inside the battery icon for sure…There’s not enough room to show the percentage with the notch taking up space.
The minis actually have the highest DPI screens I believe. Those models specifically have low DPI displays, so rendering something as small as that might make it look weird or illegible.
Funny thing is that coincidentally, the devices it's missing on happen to be the cheapest model in each years lineup.Perhaps it's to indirectly let people know if they get Pro models, they will get better and more iOS tweaks. Do you have maybe a Youtube Channel called Daylitekk, sounds like it, Apple is not greedy at all, and they are amazing people who want to help you!iPhone XS gets it too.
Also, I'm sure the number of people who upgrade their phones due to a missing battery percentage readout that they can get anyway with a single interaction will be well into the astonishing double-digit range.
Talk about people making a mountain out of a molehill. Sheesh.
13 Mini is still for sale. The most reason is , they only sell 12 and above. if figure small iphone se also small.
