Your point?

Like i said, no statement on fixing bugs, for example the major lag many people are reporting.

But emojis get a super press release.

And? Did you expect Apple to hold a press event to say, hey guys we fixed some of our flaws. Thx for coming bye. Bug fixes are never ceremonial. They just put them out quickly and inconspicuously, and everyone goes on using their devices.

What’s more insane than the emoji craze is the emoji disdain.

Guess what, Apple has ALWAYS, since the inception of the Macintosh, been guided by making technology more fun for the “mere mortal” (as Steve Jobs called it), and not just a box used to do work. i.e. Photo Booth, iChat, hell even MacPaint.

I see nothing different from Apple today. They still seem to be making technology more than just productivity boxes, and mere mortals seem to be enjoying it. Steve Jobs mission accomplished.

Notice that the 'swearing emoji' used 5 characters and not the commonly used 4 characters. I find this to be a very cute and coy implementation, so typical of Apple.

There is actually flag of Jersey but no Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland , that's ridiculous

The kiddies are so excited...
My Mom is 77 and loves emoji. She also loves being called kiddie!

Oh wait, you were trying to be smug and condescending... try again?

Maybe the snowflakes amongst us need trigger warnings when Unicode adds emoji (and Apple artists update their font file).

It happens every year, and Apple haters lose their ****

It’s quite entertaining :D:D:D

It’s sad when you can’t go to a single kind of news thread without complaints.

Anyways, cool, more emojis...there’s actually people outside of this small corner of the web who enjoy these little things. hey, beats the sticker craze imo

In an emergency, people could always use WORDS to express themselves. This emoji madness is like something out of 'Idiocracy'
I dunno, we’ve always used images. Before emoji there were, well, emoticons and this forum is guilty of supporting them for the longest time. Before that MSN had them, before that (or as well as all that) we’ve always used “(-:” and the type “<@:)

I don’t think much of the arguments against emojis. I think it’s one of the ultimate first world problems to have. I don’t use them much myself, I just prefer text based ones.

I guess the big thing about them is that they’re universal across all languages. That’s a powerful tool to have.

But anyways. (also Trump’s very much “idiocrasy”, but I trust with that avatar you’re against him like the rest of us at least :D )

Grah boooo hissss emojis I don’t understand grrrr.

I don't really mind emojis, but all should not be called emojis. Broccoli certainly isn't an emotion. These are images or clip-art, and one problem is that they are representations of an idea. They are implemented differently so intent and understanding changes from systems and OS to OS and even between versions. One could call them emoji dialects, and sooner rather than later they will become unintelligible.

I already want more Animojis! Mind blown and puking with green goo splashing on the screen.
